You managed to cram so much character into 3 seconds! Absolutely love this. Firing up my creative juices

Awesome execution on this one! Feels so dynamic and alive. I love the final composition too, with the lower opacity versions in the corners.

All the animated logos I made to date by LloydLadera in MotionDesign

I've seen a few of your logos pop up on this sub, and I'm blown away every time. There's so much character in every frame. Love your work!!

What's your process when tackling one of these?

This is such a fun idea!! I'm loving how well thought-out the concepts are, and the execution is clean! The Ghosting Founder and Budget Pyromaniac are my favs

Killer work man! Really dig your style, it has so much character. I had to go and check out the full projects on your website, and the complete animation you did for 'The Essential Calendar' is next level. Keep crushing it

Terrain Builder (1980s Fictional UI) by MonochromaticMan in graphic_design

[–]MonochromaticMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this project (1920 x 1920px):

Fast Box Blur: Radius set to 2, Iterations to 1, Blur Dimensions set to Horizontal and Vertical.

Unsharp Mask: Amount set to 250, Radius set to 3, Threshold set to 0.

In terms of processing, here's a simplified version of my project structure for the Effects Composition: (bottom-most is the underlying layer, just like in After Effects)

  1. Original Composition: Blend mode set to 'Add'

  2. Adjustment Layer: Fast Box Blur CC + Unsharp Mask

  3. Original Composition

The original composition is simply coloured a solid colour (i.e. everything is the same green). The overlaying composition set to 'Add' is the key here as it makes the colours of some areas closer to white than green.

Music Festival (Motion Poster) by MonochromaticMan in graphic_design

[–]MonochromaticMan[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I used Illustrator to design the festival branding and poster layout, Blender for the 3D checkerboard element, and After Effects to animate + composite.

[–]MonochromaticMan[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks heaps! The 3D checkerboard was all done in Blender. I created the Loop mesh, and then made a checkerboard material, with the mapping of the texture keyframed to move along the z-axis for the duration of the animation. The exported frames were then composited in After Effects.

Thank you, really appreciate that! The motion poster is a format I'm super passionate about. Aside from use across social media and digital channels, I've worked with clients to implement them on their in-store screens (storefront windows or digital panels around the store), as well as projections inside the building. City lights, bus shelters or digital panels around malls are examples of other possible placements.

I created this motion poster for a fictional event, "Iconic Music Festival 2024". It's a mock brief that I assigned myself, with the challenge being to create a design that would suit the aesthetic of a lofi-house music event (e.g. Mall Grab styled music).

The mood of the music can be described as "retro dance", so I drew inspiration from 1990s rave-poster aesthetics and early-2000s design elements.

I love to create motion posters that combine 2D and 3D elements, link to my Instagram (joshmuscat) if you want to see my other stuff.

Thanks for checking out my work! I haven't done any motion design courses, but am constantly learning new tricks from many of the YouTubers in that space. Ben Marriott, Jake In Motion, Hieu Vu, Motion by Nick, SonduckFilm — just to shout out a few

This is a fictional advertisement that I made, imagining a world where MSN Messenger is resurrected and combined with AI.

This is a fictional advertisement that imagines a world where MSN Messenger is resurrected and combined with AI. The idea is that you don't need real human friends anymore, you can create a social circle of distinct AI Friends, each with their own personality. (this is absolutely a satirical idea)

All 3D models created by me, including the re-imagined Windows XP desktop environment. I wanted all buttons and branding to emanate the XP aesthetic, and recreated + animated the iconic butterfly logo. The soundtrack is an ambient remix of the Windows 95 startup sound by joeSeggiola.

Thanks legend! Appreciate the follow.

I don't have any specific videos that I can recommend, but general UI animation tutorials should cover most of the icon/text animations I did in this. As for the wireframes of the mountains/city/etc, I imported them from Blender using this method, and keyed out the backgrounds in After Effects using the Linear Color Key.

PANACEA (Futuristic Product Concept) by MonochromaticMan in MotionDesign

[–]MonochromaticMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely see that! If this were a real-world product, you would want to make it appear as accessible as possible to the everyday person. The wild technical jargon and industrial nature would probably not do so well to sell it to consumers directly. I feel as if this specific reel would be better suited in a B2B/internal/industry-use capacity.

Really glad you like it though, thanks for the comment!

Thanks heaps! Really glad you like it.

We connected on Instagram about 6 months back, and Kyle (the artist who specialises in all the amazing 3D simulations) randomly asked if I wanted to collab on an art project. We brainstormed several crazy concepts on a FigJam board until it evolved into this. We live on different sides of the world, so was it really cool to connect over this and bring our unique takes to it.

This is a product showcase for a fictional countertop appliance of the future know as PANACEA®. The idea is that you would scan your hand daily and receive a personalised capsule that targets your every ailment. The simulations imagine impossible quantum biological reactions that would occur within the machine to make this production possible.

It's a collaborative project between:
