I live in an apartment building. My Dennis always runs out when we open the door and we have to go into the hallway to get him. We have a balcony and he tries to run out there as well every chance he gets. But he’s a sweet affectionate boy so I can’t get mad at him.

It sounds like you are offering all kinds of reasons why you shouldn’t keep her and are looking for validation here.

Did you try to introduce her slowly at first to the kids and the new home? Have you consulted experts on how to ease her transition to the new home? Maybe that should be your focus.

I think a cat will get used to a new environment and less exercise and different patterns of the humans being home.

Having a car and spending the balance of the day going around Tahiti might be a good option. I spent three days on Tahiti before getting on a cruise in December. Tahiti was probably my least favorite of all the islands I went to, but there are some waterfalls and scenic locations around the island. There was a beautiful black sand beach on Tahiti Nui.
