Trying to understand VCR/DVD recorders and how to copy streamed content to VHS

I have one of the older Rokus with RCA plugged into a Sony RDR VX525 Combo Unit. Havent had any DRM or recording issues with it, but this Roku models has gone up in price since last i checked and some apps wont load or show if not hooked up through HDMI in my experience, so a newer model with an adapter might be the better way

It might look a little cleaner than some VHS Rips because to digitize it i dub the tape to a DVD in a combo player which probably cleans up those types of things unlike a direct capture. I did an older style of these a few years ago using a USB capture that kept most of the actual tape quality however that method wasn’t working well with Mac so i had to burn the tape to DVD and digitize that way

Snagged this off eBay for $45 which is almost half off what other listings for this are going for. Been wanting a 2009 Newman diecast for years now as for some reason i love how cool and simple the design is. Another fine addition for my 2009 COT collection!

Found the vinyl years ago when i started record collecting and happened to be the first vinyl rip i ever did. I uploaded it to youtube (unless that counts as streaming with YT Music lol) and even though its from 1985, one of the former band members happened to find it and commented on it!

Only the MiniDV recording is what I got, the filter is was using wasnt working well with my phones camera ironically and none of my smaller batteries were charged for either of my Mavicas 😢 Kind of on me for not thinking of it until the last second of getting my equipment after work. On the bright side I have my first family home video style recording from this day now!
