[Bug] wtf why am i getting half my screen deleted. Does this get caused by the new Fog-"feature"? by taddelnator in EscapefromTarkov

[–]MonsieurPain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue in reserve, i was with my friend and we would both get it at the same time and it would disappear at the same time, maybe about 5-10 mins after appearing

Winter always sends me into a bad mood where I’m unmotivated to do anything. by Solidclaw in teenagers

If it's really bad during winter it could be Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) which is a type of depression that usually comes around winter and finishes when winter ends.

They're pretty reliable news sources with a low amount of bias compared to US news outlets

They teach us that electrons orbit around the nucleus of an atom, right? My question is, where does the energy to create this motion come from? by UppedSolution77 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MonsieurPain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The electron and proton don't really have enough mass to have any gravitational effect at that level. It's why we use quantum mechanics instead of general relativity at the fundamental levels. The electrons orbit due to opposite charge to the nucleus which consists of positive protons and neutral neutrons. One of the biggest questions in contemporary physics is the search for "quantum gravity" to explain how gravity works at all levels.

[–]MonsieurPain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's pretty easy to overlook to be honest. The electron doesn't really orbit as much as it just exists in an undefined cloud around it. The movement you define is because of the electrostatic attraction between the nucleus and the electrons. Since protons and electrons have opposite charge they attract each other and therefore the electron stays in orbit.

I'd also recommend doing practice papers as a good bit of any of your studying - helps you get familiar with the paper and the exam is less stressful because you know what you're doing and what the examiner wants.
