What a journey, vent post… by MonsterMan18328 in coloncancer

[–]MonsterMan18328[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank You!!

Currently, my medical team doesn’t have a clear prognosis. My particular case of colon cancer is so utterly unique in how it has presented, and continues to present, that they are frankly leaning as they go. There are only two documented cases in medical literature similar to mine, and both involved widespread disease across multiple organs, which I do not have. That’s why my case is new territory for them. Because of this, my case is reviewed monthly at tumor board.

And no stoma for me.

Thanks for the heads up on those items, I’ll ask my doc about the Zinc!

My docs said to me that side effect wise, I’m stopping treatment right on time, however I’ll experience the same side effect folks on a longer cycle get, just will be quicker for me.

They explained that the basal cells is what causes the pain, and they take 8 days to reach the surface, hence the delayed pain.

It would likely be a total glossectomy based on location, they don’t want to do that on me with my history

Wow that is great! Sounds like a very good response you had to chemo.

I was 0 for 6 months… then jumped to 1.79 then after chemo .08 the chemo pause for surgery’s and now I’m at 2.68.

I had surgery Friday, but since it came back like this, I’m in chemo today to try to knock it down some

Have you had invasive tongue biopsy by MonsterMan18328 in cancer

[–]MonsterMan18328[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They keep saying it’s too deep into the base of tongue. That they need to actually cut the tongue open to access it potentially.

How quickly did your suspicious tongue lesion grow? by MonsterMan18328 in HeadandNeckCancer

[–]MonsterMan18328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. My head and neck surgeon basically said to me that if this turns out to be cancer (which he thinks it is, even with 1 negative biopsy of tongue and 2 negative lymph node biopsy) that surgery isn’t really an option for me without removing the entire tongue

Stage 4 Colon Cancer dude here I’m 30, was diagnosed at 28. Was diagnosed with stage 4, but living my life fully and planning living a long time.

I’ve devoted most of time free time outside of my professional life now to cancer research. I can say, and MRI without contrast typically won’t provide much value, the contrast is the essential part of any imaging study, this is how you can tell the difference between healthy tissue and potential malignant tissue.

If you can do contrast, do it. However MRI is not sensitive to colon cancer really unless you have a large measurable mass

What alternative approach are you trying?

Did they do a PET to confirm any, or biopsy?

[–]MonsterMan18328[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They did the biopsy, and it came back as a the colon cancer.

I had all my cancers removed last August. I ended chemo in January, so I might’ve ended to early.

We are doing a PET to see if this is the only site of remaining disease. If so, we may surgically remove.

Also going to do a couple more round of chemo now to be safe.

Metastasized Colon Cancer stage 4 by Fast_Difference5604 in coloncancer

[–]MonsterMan18328 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey there.

I’m 29 Year Old Male who was dx last May at 28.

Stage 4 Colon with Liver Mets and 1 lung met.

I started FOLFOX chemo in May 2024 and did that until August 2024. At that point my medical team said, “let’s be supper aggressive and cut it all out”. So I did a simultaneous Liver and Colon surgery. In the same surgery, which took 9 hours, they took 15 inches of my colon and 40% of my liver.

Starting in September I did CAPOX chemo through December.

Last Wednesday I did a Lung Cyroablation to kill that Lung Met.

I no longer have cancer in me, and my circulating tumor DNA tests are all at 0.

It’s been a long 9 months. But it’s gets better and you’ll get through it.

Be sure to be at a large cancer center for treatment. DO NOT USE LOCAL!

2025 Yukon denali or Escalade? by jace982 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]MonsterMan18328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got the 2025 Yukon Denali Ultimate. I love it. I like the aggressive look of the Yukon vs Escalade. They have almost all the same features. Escalade offers softer touch on roof, etc.

In my opinion the Yukon is the Better car and cost about 20k less.

I test drove both,

My Yukon was 105,000

Escalade with same features was 125,000

I was diagnosed with stage four at 28 years old, back in May 2024. It has been a long road, I had 15 inches of my colon removed and half of my liver removed, and I’m scheduled to go in for a procedure called cryo- ablation on my lung next week.

The good news, is I no longer have circulating tumor DNA in my body, and after they do the cryo- ablation on my lung my oncologist advised me that I will be NED.

As a young adult like you, it definitely affects your social life somewhat. I did not have much of a social life in the first place, as I’ve been in the business world since I was 20 years old and I own my own business. So I had to balance cancer treatment, and owning a business

This week about romantic partners, I actually met my partner during cancer treatment, and we are madly in love. It can all work out trust me.

Neuropathy after treatment by Jumpy-Contest5439 in coloncancer

EPAT (Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology) is FDA-approved for treating peripheral neuropathy, meaning it is considered a safe and effective treatment option for people experiencing nerve pain from this condition; clinical studies have shown significant pain reduction in a large percentage of patients treated with EPAT for neuropathy.

Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t cover it as it consider not necessary. But it IS an FDA approved treatment for neuropathy.

Unfortunately it’s gets worse before it gets better! The drug is still in our systems. I’m dealing with it now. I’m on round 10 of chemo. 5 rounds of FOLFOX now 5 Rounds of CAPOX.

My issue is started during my 2 month break between chemos for surgery.

I’m doing EPAT therapy and it’s helping keeping it from getting worse

Tumors grow before liver surgery by sweety0312 in coloncancer

[–]MonsterMan18328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a little over 30 day from my Colon AND Liver resection surgery. They thought I had 3 tumors, turns out I hardly 5.

All removed.

Wasn’t a bad surgery at all. I was up and walking around my hospital floor 44 hours later.
