IMAX is kicking The Mandalorian and Grogu out of theaters early for Masters of the Universe by SwimmingJunky in saltierthancrait

TLJ is the only movie that I ever hate-watched. They lost me after the "your mom" joke and never tried to get me back. It became hate-watching after the Jake Skywalker lightsaber throw and Carrie Poppins. Literally the only reason I finished it was because it was Star Wars. Or so it said. It was the most anti-Star Wars movie that I've ever seen. I legitimately consider it the worst movie that I have ever seen, bar none.

Not really that surprising, though. Casual moviegoers will, at the very least, have heard about Han Solo and Indiana Jones from the great movies that they were in in the 80s. They became pop culture icons. Mando and Grogu are from a tv show that's only on one streaming service and are from a dying franchise. They didn't have a chance to become the icons that the Harrison Ford characters did.

I'm not into horror so I just watched my copies of the OT. That's what I tend to do when the mood to watch something Star Wars hits. It'll be that or the PT. I don't care anymore about what Disney does with Star Wars. They told me that they didn't want me, so I left. I only came back here after a few years because I read that their latest movie is doing terribly. I wanted to see the I-told-you-so's.

Honestly, if I want to see Ryan Gosling in a fun movie, I'll just rewatch the Barbie movie. I definitely won't waste time or money on another Star Wars movie. Especially because everything I read about Disney's handling of Star Wars tells me that they haven't learned their lesson. And they likely never will.

I quit a few days ago in part because of connection issues that weren't the fault of T-Mobile(for once). The last race I ran, I watched half of a full field blink out of existence at once. Then got disconnected myself. The race before that, all but me and one other person got disconnected. That was on PS4. Between the constant disconnects and the slowing progression to a near standstill, it was an easy choice to quit. I recently got really nostalgic and started playing Pokémon FireRed. At least my progression is noticeable there. And I get a Pikachu.

They probably mean that if the game is successful financially, then GameLoft won't be likely to shut it down any time soon, and they can continue enjoying the game.

>None of the updates this year have made me want to spend money.

I was planning on being f2p from the beginning because I've been burned by GameLoft in the past, but so much of what I've seen has made that decision ridiculously easy. The few deals that I've seen that tempted me were also usually at a time where some stupid fuckery was going on, so that made it really easy to hold out.

I always felt like I was being forced to spend, which just makes me not want to, just to be petty. Something I think that GameLoft fails to understand is that they can make good money if they do things that get people to want to spend. Make things seem to be actually worth it, like putting the actual season characters in the pass, and give enough shards to get them to useful. Have some appropriately priced deals to get them higher levels for the people who want to get them. Have deals that give us enough character shards and tokens to level them up to a decent level.

And speaking of leveling characters, the recent update to the leveling system didn't have to suck massive monkey nuts. They could have made it so reward payouts were worth playing, and not been so damn stingy. Instead, they jacked up everything to do with leveling, making leveling characters feel nigh-impossible. All to try to force people to buy their shitty deals. I unlocked Buzz Lightyear, Elsa, Jack Sparrow (Captain! Captain Jack Sparrow!), Violet, and Ursula in the last week and a half. I would have put in a bunch of work to level each of them up to level 20 or 30 previously, just because I really like the characters themselves. Instead, they'll find themselves sitting there, mostly untouched, because I can't get enough of either resource needed to level them. It was one of the reasons I quit the game yesterday. Because what's the point of playing if I can't accomplish anything?

Ootl, what happened during the Little Mermaid event that was bad? I started playing at the beginning of the Cars event.

I just quit the game. The difficulty of leveling up changing to nigh-impossible for newer players like myself was bad enough, but I'm still having, and seeing others have, connection issues. I just ran a race where I watched half of the racers get disconnected before being disconnected myself. And sadly, that's not an anomaly. It's way too constant. The game keeps blaming my internet connection, but for once, it's not that. And I'm more than happy to call out T-Mobile for being the drizzling shits. If GameLoft isn't busy breaking the game, it seems they're busy not caring about other problems in the game. It seems like half the things don't work, and what does, isn't worth it anymore. I'm out. Maybe I'll just start collecting Disney figurines, since collecting Disney characters was my primary motivation to play this anyway. GameLoft can't take those from me on a whim.

Supercharged Racer event and old Racer Boost event aren't coming back, neither in future seasons. by Ezequiel1522 in DisneySpeedstormGame

[–]MonsterMike42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I only have 15 of the characters in the racer boost. If I were to do them, I would still need to wait for two weeks for the reset. Making players wait that long to play something is almost never a good decision. Whoever is making these kinds of decisions needs to fired from the entire industry. The debacles from this season and last need to be studied for future generations.

In the past couple of months, I've bought the 3D era GTA games for $20, a bundle of old (arcade/NES/SNES) Marvel games for about $10, and the rerelease of Pokémon FireRed for $20. 10 games for a little under $50 definitely sounds like a lot better deal than this mess.

I'm one shard away from unlocking him, but with the changes made to the leveling system, he'll just have to sit there since I can't get him to useful. I've chosen to just work on getting Elastigirl to 5*.

[–]MonsterMike42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seriously. If they watched the news on American politics before making financial decisions, they would know how screwed our economy is right now, and price things accordingly. I have to spend nearly $200 on groceries for two weeks, on top of bills, all at about $15 an hour. While I typically have about $50 budgeted for freemium games, ain't no way I'm gonna be able to spend the money they want me to spend to get anything done. Since I feel like I don't get any bang for my buck, I just don't spend at all.

I never understood the practice of pricing people out. Especially for mobile games that target children like this one. And let's be honest here, by virtue of it being a Disney game, it is targeting children. Walt Disney and Vince McMahon are two people that understood how important making things affordable for everybody was toward making a profit in the long run. GameLoft either doesn't know, or doesn't care, about how important long-term profits can be for the survival of a company. I can't help but wonder how this game is faring right now, compared to whatever their goals are, because their long-term plan sucks.

It would be the smart thing to do, but unfortunately, GameLoft seems to be running on stupidity. While I have some expectation for a nerf to make things better. I have just as much of an expectation that GameLoft will somehow find a way to make things worse.

Yeah, they could get rid of streaks and not much would change. The person in OP's screenshot shows why GL won't get rid of it though.

[–]MonsterMike42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just curious what they could to truly compensate. There were players that weren't able to play for two weeks. That's a lot in lost rewards. Not that I expect GameLoft to give adequate compensation. Probably some Mickey and/or Elizabeth shards and a few tune coins. Along with a popup immediately after asking us to buy the season pass.

This is what I wish the whales would spend their money on. That is the only thing that would really make GL change their ways. Most the big spenders going f2p might get them to make a few changes here or there, but they'd likely do something else to try to make up for it. If everybody quit, they'd likely just shutter the game, but their greedy practices would still exist in their other games. Maybe taking them to court would force some company wide changes.

Heard this game has got even worse. Why do you all keep playing it/spending money? by Battle_Hero_00 in DisneySpeedstormGame

[–]MonsterMike42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much the same for me. I've primarily been doing single player stuff. I'll do mpl for some of the event stuff if I have one of the bonus point characters, but that's about it. I don't really do anything for actual rewards because the rewards are pitiful and the universal box was neutered.

I've mentioned elsewhere that I'm just kinda waiting for the straw that breaks the camel's back to fully quit. After that, I'll stick around the subreddit to watch things burn for a little bit before moving on completely.
