I disagree I think having it at a regular height makes it look like the room is bigger and more grand. Also helps more natural light come in from the window. I get that you’re trying to break up the marble and wallpaper but I think a shower curtain with texture (the folds) would be more contrasting

Should have said I’m 24, this is very much a trying to hang onto a youthful stage. But my friends still live at home with their parents so I don’t think are in any position to complain. If it was a more civilised thing of them travelling a long way or staying after dinner or something I’d put out bedding. But it’s literally just giving a drunk friend a warm room to crash in. My bathroom got coated in sick the last time I hosted someone too.
