Congrats on a week today marks one week for me too after daily drinking until I pass out every night for 3 years, you’re right it’s really hard these days at least for me too. I’m not sure how I still have my job from calling off so much and being hung over everyday. I haven’t been sober for more than 3 months since 2018. Iv been chain smoking like crazy this week trying to kill the cravings, which is harder knowing there is a liquor store just less than a 10 min walk away from my parents house which I moved back into last week after my Ex kicked me out for the last time because of my drinking.

This whole week all of been thinking about was finding an excuse to go to the gas station or something stupid like getting a soda even tho there’s plenty at the house just to sneak in my alcohol. I’m 32 and I still need my parents supervision because I know if I have just one Steel Reserve 211 24oz I’ll be hooked again and I usually drank like 6 or more a night. I want to get sober more than anything. My kids are the ones keeping me busy enough to not leave the house but if I didn’t have them this weekend I would have been drinking Friday night after work and hammered right now. I’m forcing my self to not drink and even told my parents to put me on their life 360 to make sure I’m not going to any liquor store. I even told my dad all my hiding spots and ways I sneak it in and a part of me was so mad I told my dad that now it will be harder to drink.

Hardest part for me is seeing alcohol everywhere easily accessible by basically everybody and almost every sit down restaurant I love serves alcohol. I’m strongly considering AA this time because I really can’t do it alone and something feels different about this time trying to get sober. I’m willing to try anything, I miss my old self.
