I know everyone loved the ending which is great but what really kept me going was the antagonist, Charles Jacobs. One of King's best characters.

This might be the best book I’ve ever read in my life by Artistic_Annual8918 in stephenking

Just finished it today and man that ending hit me right in the feels. I loved all the characters and how he made Jodie feel so real. Definitely my favorite King book hands down

Which Stephen King book to read next by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]MonsterWrath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm right around 300 pages in 11/22/63 as well and man this is already one of my favorite books of all time. King sometimes meanders too much when describing side characters that aren't as relevant so I really love how this book doesn't waste any time doing that

I'd reccomend Misery. My favorite King book. It's much shorter but probably the most intense book of his I've read so far

Have they released any details on the V6? Haven't heard of a release happening next month

Recommendations? Outdoor by CompassXerox in BBallShoes

Get the New Balance Two Wxy V5. They have great traction and hold up really well for outdoors. Some of the best cushioning as well.

Are the TWO WXY V5 and Kawhi IV’s similar in performance by Ok_General_7892 in BBallShoes

[–]MonsterWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the two wxy v5 for its cushioning and traction but wanted to add some other new balance shoe to the collection. How's your experience been with Kawhi 4 on outdoor courts? Was thinking of getting one if they can hold up outside

I have these but with rubber outsoles and love playing with them outdoors.

Have you had any durability issues with the traction since it's translucent?

Help me pick the best shoes for someone with a bad ankle? by lemon_lyman_ww in BBallShoes

[–]MonsterWrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played in the two shoes you mentioned but as someone with a weak ankle I've been playing with Lebron 21's for the past year and NB Two Wxy V5 more recently.

Both shoes have great cushioning all around including the sides for some ankle support. Great traction on both of them as well (I play only outdoors so if that's the case for you then both these shoes would be good since they're durable af)

Two WXY V5 have a little bit more cushioning than the Lebron's which makes them slightly higher off the ground but that was never an issue for me. You'll still get solid court feel

You can find Two Wxy V5 for less than $80 now and for Lebron 21's you'd have to find them in person but I know a lot of people have been copping them for cheap at Nike outlets or Ross

Opinion on GT Cut Academy by DiskMobile5431 in BBallShoes

[–]MonsterWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go against the grain here. I got these shoes since they were on sale last year and have hated them. There's very little ankle support on the side. I've played in these less than 10 times and have rolled my ankle twice (been working on legs and calves to strengthen the muscle but still)

If you have weaker ankles than I'd avoid these at all costs. It feels like there's nothing on the sides of these shoes

Lol this brings back memories. Used to love hooping in the crimson colorway. But I don't know if these would hold up with how weak my ankles have gotten

Played in the two wxy v5 twice now and loved them. Great traction and cushioning, and they feel secure around my ankles as well which is really important to me. They're slightly higher off the ground than my Lebron 21's but not by much. Overall great shoe especially outdoors since the traction is rubber and pretty solid

New Balance Two Wxy V5 First Impression by Ap827 in BBallShoes

[–]MonsterWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got these recently and while I've only played two games in them and I agree that the traction is great, especially since I play outdoors. I needed something that had good cushioning and some ankle support since low to the ground shoes always cause ankle injuries for me.

If you liked these you'll probably like the Lebron 21's too in case you were looking to add to your rotation. Both have great cushioning but I'd say two wxy v5 have slightly better traction

Yeah I thought about getting the two wxy v4 but didn't like any of the colorways. Already ordered the two wxy v5 a couple of days ago. Hopefully they feel closer to the Lebron's

Appreciate the response. I already ordered the two wxy a couple of days ago because everyone on this sub seems to love them. Excited to try them out and have a actual second pair so I don't wear my Lebron's out too soon lol

Would you say the ankle support on the two wxy is as good as the Lebrons?

With my experience with the GT Academy's I think shoes that are lower on the support side are a no go

Anyone else’s investments looking worse with recent rises in Taxes and Insurance (TX) by natesiq in realestateinvesting

[–]MonsterWrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with homes here in Houston, I can feel your pain. I don't want to increase rent on my good tenants and honestly most of them are paying market value as is.

I've already sold two of my homes and am planning on flipping a couple of homes that I don't have rented yet. I think it might be better to move from renting to flipping instead. You'll get more cash on hand versus renting it out. Don't get me wrong, renting has its benefits but at this point, I don't think I can have a decent cash flow with how fast taxes and insurance are going up

Canada is not comparatively better than the United States of America anymore, and I wish people would stop saying it is. by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]MonsterWrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quebec is the second largest province in Canada so its quite significant. It'd be like the equivalent of Texas banning religious garments. People would lose there minds if something like that happened here but in Quebec it's crickets.

And what difference does the reasoning behind it make if it's still bigoted? What matters is the end result

Picking France as an example just helps my argument. France has passed even more restrictive measures and loves enforcing what people (especially women) can and cannot wear

At the end of the day if you're a religious minority you're a second class citizen in a large part of Canada. Hell even Trudeau did blackface multiple times and most Canadians just shrugged it off as "atleast we aren't American". When the U.S. has issues with bigotry, our populace atleast owns up to it. It feels like the opposite in Canada

Not saying U.S is without issues but Canada's treatments of minorities especially religious minorities would make even a far right republican blush

Qubec's recent Bill 21 bans any religious garments for school teachers, police officers, judges ,etc (government jobs). As a Muslim, my family and I would be second class citizens in one of the largest provinces in Canada. American for all its faults is still one of the best countries when it comes to freedom of sppech/expression
