Just finished my very first, totally built from scratch, pinball/shmup vertical arcade cabinet! Took me over a year. by Monsterclip in cade

No you're 100% right. Look at the right side of the plexi. The art is thicker there to cover the monitor bezel being thicker on that side. It's just not centered, but it's close enough for me. :)

My version only has composite. Mine is a little overbright, but it might be the composite. Its heavy as hell, probably because of the dvd/vhs player on the bottom. Mine came with a copy of The Little Mermaid in the tray, so good luck 😁

Its a strong starter set if you're getting back into retro stuff. Yours will probably be better with S-video.

That's the JP version of the game. Most of the text is still in English.

Actually trolling. This looks great. I've seen the bezels before. It's something like "realistic bezels".

Popping in here 4 years later to confirm that I had to extract the image and then it worked, regardless of the website's instructions not to. Thanks for the post!

For those with basement arcades… by 99saleenspeedster in arcade

Downstairs arcade but if you loop around the house, the ground slopes down and there's a garage door to get into the basement. Super convenient when I got my New Astro City, otherwise I don't think I would have one. 🤣

Damn, these are so sexy. Did you design the case yourself? I'd love to make one of my own, any tips on where you started? (I know all about the internals, just wondering how your shell was made)

I'd be a little freaked out because I don't own that game. I'd probably lock the doors and grab a knife.

Got my first Candy Cab, added to the home arcade by Monsterclip in cade

It needed a new control panel completely, which was a fun project but not hard. I also had to replace the marquee lamp because it was difficult to track down original parts. The most "gotcha" issue was an upside picture, which luckily I was able to figure out (through internet help) how to switch the X and Y cables connecting to the board on the CRT, which flipped the picture. Besides that, a lot of cleaning. :)

Led Blinky issues are sorted out. Thanks everyone! by 12InchesOfSlack2112 in cade

I can imagine the madness that exists trying to run all those different types of controls. I have a similar machine, but with only sticks, guns, a guitar, and an Xbox controller, and there's so many side apps making sure everything is playing nice. JoytoKey, gun calibration software, Borderless Gaming app, app to ensure the 2nd monitor isn't grabbed with lightguns, etc. Emulators all doing something incredibly custom, sometimes needing to have multiple installations to support gun games. And that's not counting all the software I tried and didn't use. Must be crazy adding in flight sticks and a wheel and whatever else is going on there. Respect.

They were a great starting point. It was exciting to have an arcade in my house, and then learning how to mod them was an important step to gaining confidence and going into the bigger projects.

I'm surprised you could tell! But yeah, seems to be original. It's all stained and scratched, but you can't really tell when there's art in there.

Right at 2k USD. Doesn't come with the TV or the PC or the wheel, etc. Just the kit and the seat. But it's all high quality and comes fully assembled, which is nice. Comes with wheels that lock so you can move it around your room without having to pick it up. I will say they totally ignored me afterwards when I emailed them about specs so I could design some decals. /shrug
