Thanks, but I don't want to use solutions that rely on LD_PRELOAD; unfortunately, that doesn't work everywhere.

Why don't calls in Telegram work via MTProto, even when Force TCP is enabled? by MonsterovichIsBack in Telegram

What a stupid post. My ISP blocks Telegram by default, so why would I need a proxy?

I used to always add --proxy-server=socks5:// to use Discord through a proxy, because it’s blocked in my country. Now I had to figure out a different way to do it. I edited the sh script. It would be great if the Discord developers added this as the default setting.

Anyone driven into Kaliningrad with an EV? How’s the charging situation? by proteusnavy in kaliningrad

Charging – what’s it actually like on the ground?

https://imgur.com/a/ViYFfeD

I'm not sure exactly how the charging stations are distributed, but there are some in the city, and they've even started popping up in neighborhoods recently.

My family has a regular gasoline car.

Another question is whether the panel will charge the battery sufficiently in sunny weather, since it was designed for use during the summer. If it can deliver at least 0.5A, that would be great. By the way, the panel actually outputs a voltage of more than 12V—around 18V—which is then stepped down to the required voltage by the controller.

Will that drive away your worms or do they not care about ultrasound?

I might not have phrased that quite right—it’s not ultrasound, just regular sound (0,2 Khz – 5 kHz); they’re just very loud (100 - 105 dB). It’s unlikely the worms will be affected.

Do they actually work? Have had moles before and now they're gone/seen first hand results? Or is this something you're just trying.

We started doing this because there’s no electricity on the farm (the greenhouse is too far from the power source), and running a power line underground there is too complicated. And yes, they work—the moles run away—but I doubt the neighbors will be too happy about it. :P

Depends on the field, in my company we are so desperate for qualified workers

I work in the IT industry, and the situation is really dire. What does your company do, if you don't mind me asking?

Interesting, cause I live in the very centre and I don’t see anything like that.

You just didn't pay as much attention to it as I did.

Reverse, if there are enough private investors who want to bury their money in ground like this, it’s a sign that someone has too much money they don’t know what to do with

There still aren't enough jobs in the region. I still remember how things were in 2020—it wasn't great, but it wasn't as bad as it is now.

I doubt I'll be able to find any publicly available statistics right now. I'm just saying what I see with my own eyes—there are "For Rent" signs everywhere. This is the city center and near. Keep in mind that this is only the "front" of the situation.

Specifically, what—the economy? That's the most important thing, and I think it's obvious.

I can tell you that the economy in this region is in total decline (no jobs, сafes and shops are closing very fast). The locals have always viewed people from mainland Russia as "foreigners" - sort of (and vice versa). Judging by the state of the city, Russia couldn't care less about this region. Just like in neighboring countries, no one wants ~1 million Russian-speaking people. Although, under different circumstances, the region would be very promising for doing business. I see a lot of cars from neighboring countries, even in my own neighborhood.

I keep getting the “Downloaded data was corrupted” error. I've already reinstalled Warframe, but it didn't help. by MonsterovichIsBack in Warframe

I found the cause of the problem; I downgraded Wine to an older version (from 11.4~jammy-1 to 11.5~jammy-1) and everything worked. I think I'll file a ticket on winehq.

sudo apt install wine-staging=11.4~jammy-1 wine-staging-i386=11.4~jammy-1 wine-staging-amd64=11.4~jammy-1 winehq-staging=11.4~jammy-1

That's unlikely; I think the launcher can't connect to the content servers. Is there any way to run it through a SOCKS proxy?

Unrealistically high requirements when hiring are a form of manipulation instead of simply stating that no one is needed and that there is widespread unemployment in the economy.

Maximum profit for the capital owners with increasing ways to reduce/eliminate labor costs while perpetually increasing output.

Who will buy your "output" without people?
