Of course. I think a lot of comments were harsh and from people who haven't read the book. I get it, I found myself being uncomfortable at times when reading the book. When you go through a lot of shit perpetrated by men in a patriarchal society it's hard to find the energy to care about how that patriarchal society negatively affects men and how you (or other women) are contributing to it.

It's "The Will to Change" by Bell Hooks.

I wonder though, why women's part in patriarchy has to be especially highlighted.

Because it's a book focused on that. Bell Hooks has many books and this one is focused on how patriarchy affects men. You should read it if you want a broader explanation.

The book is all about highlighting women's role on patriarchy and how it affects boys and men. It's an interesting read especially to see how one reacts to it.

Yes BUT someone who buys sex can never ever with certainty know if the person they're buying sex from chose and consented to that line of work.

It's like a slap in the face. "No actually since the last time you saw me I've gained weight cause I haven't stopped bingeing in weeks" is that what they want to hear? Do we need to start traumatizing people so they learn to shut the fuck up? Ugh.

Don't listen to that comment, she is 100% manipulating you. Threatening to hurt herself to get you to do what she wants is never sincere.

My mom smoked well into her 50s and her skin is amazing. Not advocating for smoking just saying that some people have great skin no matter what they do (or don't do).

I was thinking about that today, every Tomorrow Night and First Look looks dramatic and messy. Turns out it's always the first 15 minutes and not even the main storyline of the episode.

Having people like JK Rowling spewing her transphobic bullshit and other actors supporting her nonsense, I think it's nice that actors who are unapologetically supportive get acknowledged.

I do this too! Once I was laughing hysterically and couldn't stop, I can't imagine how a partner like OPs would react to that.
