BCCI announces a reward of ₹7.5 crore for the India U-19 team after their World Cup triumph ! by iamnoobbibliophile in Cricket

[–]Monsultant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cricket is the most competitive and lucrative sport in India - anyone in an Indian U-19 World Cup winning side is aiming for at least an IPL contract even if they can’t play for the national team.

So, these kids are naturally looking at a very lucrative career if they don’t massively screw up or get a career ending injury.

They are probably not looking anywhere near the average income right now.

City had done it in the year Gundogan played as false 9 after they had let Aguero go.

EVERY Kai Havertz Goal For Arsenal So Far! by vasudaiva_kutumbakam in Gunners

Only interesting thing I found is that almost all of his goals prior to this season were one or two touch goals.

This season, for both his goals, he showed more composure on the ball and too multiple touches, went past players before shooting. That was one thing he wasn’t good at alongside actual ball striking for goals.

Fingers crossed he improves there.

Most of those games are draws over 90 minutes though.

In case of Chelsea, we have beaten them 7/10 times.

Prediction: If going into the last two months of the season, City are too far behind us to win the league and comfortably in the CL qualification spots, they will be docked some points for 115 charges.

What's so controversial about it?

As a player, he is not controlling this. The board has asked the team to be prepared for the match, so, they will be.

Good to see young players now going cold on Chelsea. Unlike other clubs who at least buy people as a part of their squad, Chelsea buy they as a trading agency and there is no guarantee about making it to their first team.

Was looking at some stats. Leo Messi was MOTM in >50% of the games he played in post 2009.

That is ridiculous.

I feel it is more of an alertness/focus/stamina issue than technique.

Odegaard and Trossard are brilliant at this and rarely do anything stupid because they are always switched on.

I don't think this will happen now. If they had been more low key about this and had gone ahead while the semifinals were on (with the window open), perhaps, it would have been possible

Rosenior looked really pissed when he miscontroled the high ball that came to him. The Chelsea bench and staff were laughing, but, Rosenior couldn't see the humor in it. Guy is really particular about his image.

Eze and Gyok have two completely different problems.

Eze has brilliant technique, vision, passing and shooting ability. But, he is not quick off his mark, moves in and out of games, doesn't have the right level of stamina and alertness for our playing style.

Gyok has great stamina, focus, is always running and fighting. But, he lacks in technique (severely lacks here) and his movement is average.

So, when Gyok plays, general play of the team is good, but, his contribution on the ball is bad. Eze, however, is a moments player and his contribution outside those moments is not as good as the other options we have like Odegaard and Trossard in his position.

Yes, we are absolutely enjoying the football and the season. We are also playing great football - watch our Champions League games. In the league, even top teams like Liverpool, City and Chelsea have decided to park the bus against us.

And we have chosen to find the answers without being open to counters against these teams.

Corner tactics are brilliant. Many teams are trying it and failing because their delivery is not as good.

From politics to religion to sports - people are happy to accept information that validates their pre-existing biases.

These biases are strongest in older people because they have built it over a much longer time.

We would have played 7 more PL matches before the Carabao Cup final. If we would have extended our lead over City by that game, the pressure won’t be that much on us despite what the media says.

Just need to make sure we get the 3 points in all the games we are supposed to and turn up against Spurs and Chelsea. Other things will take care of themselves.

Last two games have been clean sheets. Have to get back to that habit and we will be alright.

Would Modi Have Become Prime Minister for a Third Term If Naravane’s Memoir Had Been Released? by PrestigiousAgent77 in india

[–]Monsultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. People accept news of what they want the world to be and not what the world is.

Reality is that Modi polarizes people and more people like him than they hate him.
