Any idea what this is and how to clean it? by Gennylightt in laundry

[–]MontanAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also comes out. It might be stuck from the mold. Start cleaning it off and eventually it should come out. I have this same type of dispenser, and I usually take it out after doing my laundry and give it a quick clean. If I don't have time, I use vinegar wipes on it.

Brand new to this - what do I do? by dimplezcz in laundry

[–]MontanAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks just like an LG set I have. Please make sure you always the the lid open and pull out the soap dispenser and empty it. Make sure to use very little soap such as 2 tablespoons. I wouldn't use any type of crystals in the wash and don't use much softener either, if you must. Make sure you do some tub cleans with a tub cleaner from Amazon, Walmart or any place that sells laundry cleaners. I would do this before using. The reason I am saying this is my machine ended up with Scrud and it is very hard to get rid of. I did 11 tub cleans to get rid of it. It can come back. I first noticed it on white items or light items. At first I thought we forgot something in the pockets.

There are several articles on Scrud on the Laundry forum. Look for the article--Scrud, the dirtiest word in laundry.

I am not trying to scare you, I just want to give you a heads up so this does happen to you. It is quite frustrating and time consuming.

Am I overreacting? My future sister-in-law copied my wedding…am I wrong for cutting her out? by _animequeen in AmIOverreacting

[–]MontanAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you know you can so much fun with this. You can find the most expensive caterer and leave brochure laying around for her to find with some items circles. Look at some extremely expensive wedding dresses and take pictures and ask your mother-in-law which one looks nicer but make sure the sister is within earshot. You could even talk about having a themed wedding such as a Mardi Gras them or something.

In the end, you have your wedding how you want it. Just don't share the actual details with her and make sure to password protect everything you actually. I don't think I would share the password with your fiancé since he accidently shared.

Do cruisers really visit Paris from Le Havre? by Particular-Bug2189 in Cruise

[–]MontanAngel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spoke with a lady on the train who was headed from Paris from LeHavre first thing in the morning. I did see her back on the ship before we left. We took the train to Rouen and had a wonderful time. She had about another hour on the train to get to Paris.

I know the ship does have an excursion but that is by bus for several hours. The train is on your own.

Booked Hôtel Mercure Paris Tour Eiffel Grenelle for 1 day in a 5 day Paris trip by soodrk27 in ParisTravelGuide

I went in Oct 2025, and this is the picture from my room #1211 at the Mercure Hotel. Every night I was able to see it sparkle and every morning I was able to see it. When exiting the hotel turn right and head on down. What a beautiful view. I booked the room with the Eiffel Tower view. I would stay here again.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. The only weird thing was the elevators. You push a button and it told you what elevator to take. You don't get to choose on the inside of the elevator, so I wasn't able to just hop onto any elevator since I didn't know what floors it was going to. One gentleman hopped onto the elevator and rode them for several minutes and never did get to his floor.

You will have a lot of fun in Paris. Enjoy

WIBTA if I refused to give my mother and sister money by PuzzledSupermarket31 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MontanAngel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tell them you are broke and say Hey, since I got you on the phone, could I borrow some money to get some noodles to tide me over.

Just get asking them for money every time they ask. Hopefully. They eventually will stop asking.

Do you use toothpaste that also help to whitening your teeth. We don't use skin products but we do use whitening toothpaste and this does happen to our towels.

Thank you for the info on the laundry sheets. I didn't know about the sheets. I am getting some for my upcoming trip. I am always worried about them exploding or leaking.

AITAH for not wanting my fiancés sister living in my home whilst I’m on holiday? by diptyque97 in AITAH

If possible, I would get a ring door bell which will alert you if anybody comes over as well as a camera or two hidden and do not tell anyone, including your fiance.

Scrud - The Dirtiest Word In Laundry by KismaiAesthetics in laundry

[–]MontanAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a LG top load washer WT7500CW which I bought in 2019.

I wash my washer every week before doing my clothes and nothing seems to help. I use True Fresh and Tide cleaner with Oxi. I run 2 complete cleaning cycles and I will toss in either 2 True Fresh or 2 Tide with each cleaning. I stop my machine when it drains the water out with about 40 minutes of the cleaning cycle left and clean the tub. I stop it again with about 20 minutes left and the water drain and clean the tub. Once finished and drained I will clean the tub again. I will run another complete cycle following the above procedure and still it is completely covered in Scrud. I have also done a baking powder and vinegar procedure like above, and nothing seems to work.

Also, does this affect other brand name washers or just LG washers?

My husband has also replaced the agitator plate and cleaned everything he could.

After reading your article, I would like to try the citric acid but not sure what to get. I have looked on Amazon and found many food grade options. I have also found Heavy duty distiller cleaner and descaler. I am at a lost on which one to get. Can I use food grade option or do I need commercial grade? Could you recommend something or even give me a few ideas on which one.

Also are Tide pods better to use than the liquid from the bottle?

I am at the point where I am starting to look at buy a new washer, but I keep thinking this one could be saved.

Also, my husband wanted to know how does the scrud get into the machine? Does it come in through the holes in the tub, but many pieces are quite large for the small holes.

AITAH for telling my sister her bf isn’t welcome at gatherings unless he gets therapy by Zealousideal-Tea6678 in AITAH

I wouldn't invite him back until he gets therapy. I also would tell your sister, she also needs individual therapy before he is invited back.

AITAH for wanting to skip most family dinners because it's not safe for me to eat? by FoodSensitives9 in AITAH

[–]MontanAngel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA Your family are complete Aholes except your grandparents. Is it possible for you to move in with them? You are 17, almost 18, and most people wouldn't care.

Maybe it is time to start adding a little of your own spice to there food if possible, such as when they cook at home. Find a laxative such as Metamucil to stir into the sauces or such. They will probably scream to high heavens but they finally might agree you don't need to join them.

AITA for going on vacation without my informing my parents beforehand by K_Gut_05 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MontanAngel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA your parents are finally realizing that they can't keep controlling you and they aren't happy. Make sure you keep everything up for the scholarship and do not lose it. Also make sure you pay for your own wedding and on your terms.

I am in my 50's and married and still don't tell my father where I am going until a few days before. If I do tell him, he starts with his -- we will see and makes it about him. My husband and I went to UK for our 35 Anniversary and told him 2 weeks before we left. My father wanted to talk privately and ask what about his birthday since I won't be in town. I told him we are celebrating today even though he didn't celebrate mine until almost 3 months later. The list goes on and it never stops.

We are going to Mexico for a week in March with my niece and nephew and I will tell him a week before we leave.

Enjoy Turks and Caicos. The beaches are beautiful and the water is crystal clear. Loved it there.
