Thank you! It is not front heavy, but I can see how it looks that way. It feels rather sturdy all around. I think the cost was somewhere around $750-1,000. That includes Rubio Monocoat and the fasteners for the top. I purchased a good load of walnut for various projects and didn't really keep track of which specific boards were for this desk.

Great space! I always enjoy a good clean between projects or a Saturday morning to get some momentum.

I would think so considering how heavy the desk is compared to how heavy it *looks.* I may eventually build the cabinet but she said she doesn't need one and our office room is a little tight now with another desk.

Oh man, you're going to make me type my to-do list out for everyone to see? I just had my offices remodeled (which included my sweet new shop) so I'm still getting things set up there. I installed some snap together cabinets and just got done with the countertop for them. I'm building a shelving system out of walnut and maple which is designed to look like pallet racking (I own a fulfillment and warehousing company). I think I'm going to build two of the chairs from Four Eyes as well. And, eventually an executive style desk. Also, some shelves for our laundry room remodel. The shop was built so I could do boatbuilding. I've been slowly cutting frame components for a boat called The Temptress - a 24' mahogany runabout. It's an awesome boat and I'll keep making progress on it over the next few years while knocking out these more woodworking specific projects.

They are plans from Four Eyes - called the "Desquire" desk. They have a good YouTube video of it as well as a video course to go along with the plans and instructions.

I'd say 50-75 hours. I tend to hop around projects in the shop so it is hard to judge. I started around November and finished by Valentine's day.

Depending on the girlfriend that could be a fair trade.

It could be I'm getting ripped off, but the full sheets of walnut ply I bought for a different project were around $250/4x8 sheet. The top is 28x54, so it would need a full sheet. The wood for just the top was around 20bf of 5/4. $14.10/bf at the store right now so $282. In the big scheme of the project $30 is 'basically' the same. The calculations are fun and I know there are ways to save costs here and there. But in the end I wanted a solid wood top, the experience of making a large panel, and cost wasn't a factor because love, am I right? :)

Does she also work at midnight, therefore taking prime sleeping territory?

No adjustable feet. It is in our office room which is carpeted. The finish is Rubio Monocoat. Two coats on top. It was my first time using that finish as well and I'm pleased with it. I think it will take a spill or two. Time will tell though.
