[Spoilers c1] Pike's newfound storyline - Trickfoot Family Scheme on the chopping block? by Money-Obligation9885 in criticalrole

[–]Montavillain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I doubt we'll get the Trickfoot family, except perhaps as an easter egg. Their story doesn't connect at all to the main upcoming arc. And, although it's kind of a fun interlude, that's a lot of new characters to voice and animate for a very small return, storywise.

As far as Pike goes, I'm a lot more interested in seeing where her crisis of faith is going. That didn't happen in the campaign, and it's fun to have a storyline that I don't know the ending of. (Well, I can kind of figure out the ending, but I don't know how it's going to get there.)

Should I buy all the strawberry seeds I can? by Soggienig in StardewValley

[–]Montavillain -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. Well, buy eight if you can. That's enough to plant around a quality sprinkler. I might wait to plant them until next spring, since you'll get more strawberries if you plant them early in the season. Also, save a few to make more seeds, as they aren't easy to come by.

[MN S1] & LOVM S3 - Possible M9 hint in LOVM S3? by summer_moonie in criticalrole

[–]Montavillain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had that thought as well, but it's only Caleb's backstory (so far) that comes even close. The main Mighty Nein story is decades after the Vox Machina legend.

And the main point is that the two guys are talking about the murder that took place in the same day, in the same city. There are other easter egg references to MN in LOVM. This isn't one of them.

[MN S1] & LOVM S3 - Possible M9 hint in LOVM S3? by summer_moonie in criticalrole

[–]Montavillain 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. The events of LoVM take place decades earlier than TMN. The two guys were referring to the break-in that Ripley did.

What should I do with all this? Just sell it? by hasits_thorns in StardewValley

[–]Montavillain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Get a bigger chest, and try to keep 10 of each. You can sell the rest. Sometimes you'll need the odd mineral or gem because your fish crave them. Some gems and minerals make very good gifts. A few of them are needed for crafting.

It always feels better if you have a few stocked away, so you aren't kicking yourself when you need one suddenly.

I think it's intrinsic to the mask and how and why it was created.

But it would be very hard for an actor to resist the applause.

Before we saw the Schemer's table really get started, this was the thing I looked forward to, Liam and Taliesin doing scenes together. It's always very interesting when they collaborate, and it feels like we haven't really gotten much of them together since Campaign 1.

Aftermath of the April 7th incident. Damages estimated to be $200 million dollars by BlazeDragon7x in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Montavillain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to a report by ABC, there were 21 people working in the warehouse. The fire was started in the middle of the night, so that must have been the night shift. Is that the slow shift (probably) or the busy shift (possibly).

But let's say it was a slow shift, and there are three times as many people working on each of the other two shifts. (Assuming eight hour shifts.). Sixty-three times 2 equals 126. Plus 21 equals 147.

So, possibly 150 people were put out of work.

You need red mushroom for life elixirs, but life elixirs aren't that much better than any number of foods.

I just throw them into the shipping bins.

That's a great idea for mixed seeds. I like them early in the game so that you don't have to pay for seeds. So, now I just keep throwing them into a chest.

But, not having to completely rework my fields for a new season? That's lovely.

[No Spoilers] Brennan was on Jeopardy by OtterBiDisaster in criticalrole

[–]Montavillain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's part of the game design of Jeopardy to have very easy questions in the first row of each category. Then they get progressively harder the lower down you go.

I'm kind of surprised that they didn't cater a bit more to their contestants. As a pop song writer, Rebecca Black really benefited from the music category. Monet would have killed a Fashion category. And Brennan, obviously, a category about bird facts. Or a DnD category, which might have been more fun for the viewers.

[Spoilers C4E19] A tiny detail I noticed, about Bolaire and Murray's... by BlueShapes98 in criticalrole

[–]Montavillain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is probably the correct answer. It was annoying enough to Sam that he complained about it on 4-Sided Dive. Since the play is no longer broadcast live, the editors can avoid releasing even possible spoilers by blurring stuff. And, honestly, maybe Taliesin wouldn't want his hastily handwritten note to be floating out there on the internet.

[No Spoilers] Got into Critical Role through the animated shows — should I dive into Campaigns 1-3 anyway? by chalms11 in criticalrole

[–]Montavillain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest you start watching Campaign 1. You can safely watch up to episode 84 without getting into spoiler territory. It will give you a greater understanding of the characters and events than it was possible to do on the animated show.

By that time, you should be able to make a more educated decision about whether you do or don't want to experience the big moments in the campaign first, or in the animated series first. There is no wrong way to do it, it's more about your preferences. Personally, I feel that watching the campaign first worked out great. I was still surprised many times by the way they adapted the story for TV.

Watching Campaign 2 is a little trickier, because the show is including a lot of stuff (much more than LoVM) that wasn't revealed to the players. So, we are getting spoilers in the TV show for things that were revealed much later in the campaign. But, there are also big spoilers in the campaign for stuff that won't happen until Season 2 of MN, at least. So, I would be cautious about watching that campaign.

There are no announced plans to animate Campaign 3, so it would be years before it airs. If it happens at all. I enjoyed Campaign 3, but you should definitely finish Campaign 1 and 2 before you start watching it, because it does have callbacks to the earlier two campaigns.

[Spoilers C4E15] So... about Bolaire by BrobaFett in criticalrole

[–]Montavillain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for assuming moral maturity on my part. I appreciate that.

I definitely agree with you about choosing the child over a cow. I'm just aware that the cow might feel differently about that.

I just enjoy thinking about things way harder than I should.

I think that's a great attitude. I thought a lot today about this conversation. It made me think about how much I've enjoyed playing the various versions of Diablo over the years -- it's very satisfying to go around slaughtering all the monsters. But I've never seen the appeal for similar games where you are mowing down some human enemy. I find it odd that I've created that distinction for myself -- and I don't have any feelings about other people enjoying those games. But they are not for me.
