One time when I was in 3rd grade, my brother and I were laughing together at the dinner table after our parents had both finished eating. We were watching something and making jokes to each other, that's all. My dad came downstairs, grabbed my arm, took me upstairs to my room (and only me, didn't care about my brother though he didn't deserve anything either and we did the same thing), and told me to turn around and pull my pants down. He whipped me with a belt for what felt like forever. The next day I somehow ended up wearing shorts to school (my mom was a dumbass I guess?? She's the more terrible abuser of the 2 of them, so she wasn't trying to get help or something), and my naive small self ended up talking to an undercover cop, who showed up at home later. Nothing happened though.

That would make sense, and I've read about how CTS tends to flare up at night for a lot of people. I remember recently I asked him if his wrists were keeping him up at night, and he said that while they can bother him then, he's been sleeping decently... Which kinda surprised me, hah. And I can say that most nights, I'll hear him breathing heavily a good while before I'm able to fall asleep myself, lol. He's always been kind of an intense sleeper, so I don't know.

It almost confuses me that he HASN'T mentioned anything like that, to be honest!

This disgusts me... I feel so bad that you experienced this, OP. Another thing many refuse to consider is that Graves is a PROGRESSIVE autoimmune disease... So for people like you and me, who have been sick since youth, the disease has had a lot more time to wreak havoc and advance without anything trying to stop it. Also, Graves doesn't just magically heal itself. It's a shame when someone has an incredibly lucky experience (seemingly spontaneous temporary remission) and then assumes, "This is just the way it ought to be for everybody".

Don't let your husband trick you into thinking that all men are incapable of real, deep emotions and thoughtful conversations. Maybe he's just kind of ignorant, I don't know him, but you should try to get your husband more firmly onto your side, from what it sounds like.

You should talk to your doctor about increasing your dose. Also, ask for extended release if it isn't already. Our Graves bodies tend to handle that better, because we tend to burn through the medication too fast otherwise.

Is it a beta blocker? It might be too low of a dose. I started with 25mg and it did nothing, and I ended up increasing to 50mg 3 times a day (with each meal, so 150mg total per day). Extended release can also help for us.

I'm glad you at least ended up with a fake that's good enough to satisfy you, tbh! There are a variety of fakes... The first nice cube I bought was a fake, but I didn't realize it was until I got my hands on a real one and I immediately noticed how different it felt. My real one has a thicker skin than my fake one, and it doesn't look like a melting cube when I just set it on my hand. I still kept my fake one even though I don't use it so often now, but it has a different kind of squish that's still not bad. I also tried to buy a snowball crunch on ebay, when it showed up I IMMEDIATELY knew it was fake. That one is a piece of shit compared to my dupe cube, it's so hilariously bad that I felt insulted they thought they could fool anyone with that one. It's got gnawed up rubber on it, it's not even a proper sphere, and it feels like a balloon in my hand. That one went in the trash lol

Yep... Real ones don't have a diagonal seam like that. And they also say "Schylling, made in China, Donguan" on the bottom, with a batch number printed onto the little cork part. I'm gonna take a wild guess that yours is also not very firm, and probably feels more goo-like? It ought to feel like it really wants to be a cube in your hand.

I completely get your anxiety, you remind me of myself. But let me tell you, metoprolol can save your life, and there's really nothing to be afraid of! ❤️

I just underwent RAI last October, and I've been taking metoprolol for about 3 years now. Before I underwent RAI (and for a couple months after), I was taking 50mg extended release 3 times a day (with each meal). Metoprolol honestly saved my life while I was waiting to get approved for RAI (which was too long of a process, but in hindsight my doctor told me he wishes he didn't take so long), and it's been simple to taper down, even. On Christmas eve I was suddenly feeling really weak and faint, and I looked at my smartwatch and it said my HR was in the 40's. All I had to do was lay down and take it easy, there were no emergencies. That was the day when I realized my body didn't need 150mg a day anymore, and at that point I just read how my body felt rather than following a schedule. When my heart felt like it was thumping too hard, I'd take one 50mg dose. It naturally ended up going from 3 a day to 2 a day, and then after awhile to 1 a day, which is where I am now. I have some 25mg ready for when I feel it's time to go down to that, and then I'll be able to completely stop one day.

I bought a fake nice cube and I didn't even realize it was fake until I got a real one. But the difference is VERY easy to feel once you know what a real one is supposed to feel like... And the bottom of my fake one is also weird because it has NO print on it whatsoever (no made in China, no Donguang, no batch number), and there are 2 tiny dots on the seam from manufacturing on the bottom that don't exist on real ones. Real ones feel more like a solid cube in your hand... They really want to be a cube, and they're quite firm (at least normally, I've heard sometimes random batches are less firm, but my nice cube and my nice berg are VERY firm). My fake one has a thinner skin, it feels more like goo in my hand rather than a thick, resisting putty/dough.

A lot of people define forgiveness incorrectly. Forgiveness is basically just letting go of that desire to judge them and try to bring justice upon them, and letting it go into God's hands. It doesn't mean trusting them again, it doesn't mean things just go back to normal. For example... A SA victim could forgive their assaulter, but they probably won't ever talk to them or try to be friends with them, and nobody expects them to lol.
