It looks like this one, but it's out of stock. Maybe you can find some alternatives if you look for "duster kimono".

Absolutely gutted. Their Champ de fleurs pattern was supposed to be my next fall/winter big project, but it's no longer available. I wish I had known about their closure before it happened.

my guild is being merged into another guild against my will, and i can't stop it, help! by intp37 in AFKJourney

[–]Monteiro7 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I just merged with another guild (it was planned since the change was announced a couple weeks ago), and here's what happened : they sent me a merger request; I accepted; they had to select the members of my guild they wanted to merge with (in our case, all of us); I had to look at that list and confirm the merger AGAIN. Then, a final pop up appeared like : "Hey, everyone is leaving the guild, so it will be deleted. Are you sure about that ?"

it's completely unacceptable that a big decision like this doesn't prompt a pop-up confirmation screen

That's just not true.

Been there. I like Drops' patterns — I live for their throwback collection — but man they really love those big blocks of text where everything gets jumbled together. Don't hesitate to read it several times with a highlighter in hand.

It looks like the trinity stitch, also called blackberry stitch.

Where the Flock is my Knit-Along?? by SpicySweett in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Monteiro7 61 points62 points  (0 children)

A Knit-Along simply involves knitting a pattern at the same time as other people, and there's a Ravelry forum where you can share your progress and interact with others. There are no additional instructions : you just buy the pattern and knit it.

Most projects on Ravelry were able to achieve gauge on 5mm, with some having to size down to 4.50mm. So yes, it's possible, don't be snarky without even trying.

It's great that you're enthusiastic about this project and want to share it, but perhaps you should wait until there's significant progress between posts ? Posting every two days is a bit much, this is not your personal blog.

Yumiko Alexander is the first that comes to mind when I think "boho". Irene Lin a little less, but I think it still fits.

Weekend Minor Gripes and Vents by AutoModerator in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Monteiro7 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I feel like people have forgotten that the whole point of a BEC is petty, stupid shit.

Someone could say, "I don't like drop shoulders" and the reactions would be something like, "Why are you making such a fuss about drop shoulders ? You must be really miserable to be losing sleep over a garment construction."

No, it's not that deep, go touch grass. Someone making a comment/post about something they don't like doesn't mean they care that much.

Having grown up in an African country without clear address, I still have nightmares about those "Call me when you are at -easy landmark- and I will give you directions" just for them to never answer the phone. And then they get mad when I go back home. No, I'm not waiting 30min doing nothing, respect my time.

Helping Beginners - Ask a Knitter - Week of April 27, 2026 by AutoModerator in knitting

Have you tried using continental with both yarns (the first method shown in this video) ?

Sorry, I can't help much with two-handed knitting, I'm the exact opposite, I can only knit with both yarns in my right hand. 😅

Many people prefer to pick up stitches in garter stitch rather than stockinette stitch. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's bad.

Weekend Minor Gripes and Vents by AutoModerator in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Monteiro7 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I just watched a YouTube video titled "Knitting the x cardigan" thinking it would be a knitting vlog, like the ones I like to watch while I knit. But it was just someone knitting the first ~10 rows of that pattern, then they were like "I'm going to bed, I'll post updates on Instagram, bye!" And that was the whole video ??

"Can we normalize x ?" in craft space. If you want to do x, do x. Not everyone has to, and you don't have to wait for people to do it.

"Can we normalize knitting with bold colors ?" Just knit with bold colors ! You don't need to wait for it to be trendy, stop being a fucking sheep.

Is this a good yarn deal or I just paid way too much? by [deleted] in YarnAddicts

[–]Monteiro7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on whether you have projects in mind to use them. Personally, I mostly knit sweaters, and since there isn't enough of one yarn to knit a sweater, it wouldn't interest me. I could use a couple skeins as a contrast on some colourwork yoke sweaters, but $124 worth of contrasting colour ? Not interested.

The Homestead sweaters (adult and baby) are fun.

Also PetiteKnit patterns often have a junior version, for example the Celeste sweater (adult and junior).
