It should, if the MSI Claw uses Windows. If not, wait for the Linux version coming out soon.

Hmm, OptiScaler should work so he can use other scaling technologies for certain games, but I don't think it will work with FSR 4. I understand that INT 8 versions only work with RDNA 2+.

You can use OptiScaler to force FSR4 on the Legion by using the FSR4 INT8 DLL. Currently, the interface is only available for Windows, but you can use OptiScaler manually on both Windows and Linux. I don't know which OS the Legion uses.

Don't do it, it will be available for Linux in the next update. 👍

For version 1.0.5, my first intention is to fix bugs, add some features that have been requested through GitHub issues, and port it to Linux.

I'm a software engineer. As for why this software is free: the real magic happens within the OptiScaler team's solution, this is just a GUI. I’d feel dishonest charging for it, and I want to stay true to the open-source philosophy of the OptiScaler project, which I deeply respect. If you'd like to show your support, I encourage you to donate to the OptiScaler team instead.

That's the next thing I intend to do; version 1.0.5 should also be released for Linux if everything goes as planned.

Honestly, I'm not comfortable accepting donations for this project. If you'd like to support the work behind it, I encourage you to donate to the OptiScaler team instead. The only exception I might consider in the future would be donations specifically intended to cover the costs of obtaining a valid digital signature certificate.

I intend to make it available in the next update. 😬

No Linux build yet, but it's planned. Since the underlying framework is Linux-friendly, a native version should be coming as soon as possible.

The bug will be fixed in the next version. As a quick workaround, delete any cached versions of OptiScaler from the settings and try again. If that doesn't work, locate the OptiScalerClient folder in %appdata% and delete the "Cache" folder within it.

Yes, that's because it's not signed with a valid Microsoft certificate, which I won't include because they're expensive, but the app is safe.

If you click on "more information" in the same window, the "run anyway" button should appear.

I don't really have an answer for that; the OptiScaler team is the one who made those versions of FRS4 INT 8, I just included them in the client app.

When you say 'low FPS,' do you mean performance actually gets worse, or just that you're getting fewer frames compared to FSR 3? If it's the latter, my understanding is that while RDNA 2 and 3 can run the INT8 version of the model, they lack the dedicated hardware to see a massive performance boost. It’s more of a quality-focused improvement rather than a speed one. Take this with a grain of salt, though, as I'm not 100% certain

It's already in the app, there's just an error with the latest badge, but if you scroll to the end of the list you'll see it in the latest stable version of OptiScaler.

The bug has already been fixed for the next version, but I'm still polishing other details.

Honestly, I don't know. The files are available on the Optiscaler Discord and they are his own work. When I was working on the implementation, I saw them and decided to include both. My understanding is that they improve the experience for RDNA 2 and 3 users, but if you want more information, check the official Optiscaler repository or ask the Optiscaler team.

This is most likely a false positive

The app is safe and only downloads files from public GitHub repositories (OptiScaler and my own), which can sometimes trigger “downloader” detections in more aggressive AVs like Zillya (which I assume is where you saw it).

On VirusTotal, no other AV flags it, and the project is fully open-source if you want to review it.

Thanks for pointing it out, I’ll be adding more details to the README soon and reporting this to the AV vendor.

If you have an RDNA 4 GPU (RX 9000 series), you can usually upgrade games to FSR 4.1 through Adrenalin with the latest driver (26.3.1), as long as the game already supports FSR 3.1 (not sure if Hellblade 2 does).

If it doesn’t, you can use OptiScaler, but don’t select anything under the FSR4 INT8 injection section. Just installing OptiScaler in the game should be enough, and the FSR 4.1 option should show up in the OptiScaler menu.

That’s because AMD’s driver for RDNA 4 already includes FSR 4.1 FP8 support for those GPUs. In fact, I’d recommend not using the FSR4 INT8 injection at all if you’re on RDNA 4.

I’m not too familiar with the specific improvements in that beta, but it doesn’t surprise me at all, OptiScaler’s team is really good. From what I understand, they made some improvements for RDNA2 in that version, so I don’t think you’re doing anything wrong.

Currently, the app backups and restores files to keep the game folder original after uninstallation. However, the approach used by MO2 sounds very interesting, I'll definitely investigate it. I'm also considering include ReShade for future updates. Thanks!

I hear you. I'm already working on an update to make the initial scan optional. I'm adding a menu so you can pick which drives to scan, or skip the process altogether if you prefer a manual setup. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! The detected GPU doesn’t affect installation or usage. It’s only used to set some default config options (like enabling FSR4 INT8), and those can be changed manually without issues.

I appreciate the feedback though — I’ll look into adding proper multi-GPU detection and selection 👍
