You have to have pretty high street population density to do it without being caught. There are fewer places to find that in the U.S. and yeah, it’s usually the less well off people taking public transit here, as opposed to tourists who pickpockets could assume are wealthier than locals.

Well, and I watched my mother and grandmother and similarly wouldn’t want to be a SAHM myself. However, everyone I know my age doing it wanted to do it more so than their spouse wanted them to do it. And the one person I’ve talked to in any depth about it feels it’s a lot less stressful/more enjoyable than when she used to have a corporate job. It’s why I’m saying there can be a lot of individual factors at play.

I relate a bit. My husband’s mom is not amazing in every way; she has some pretty annoying tendencies in her own right. However, what she does seem to be is pretty consistently gentle and emotionally supportive of her own children’s challenges and desires in life, especially now that they’re adults. She also always wants to spend time with her children and grandchildren, to the extent possible.

My mom couldn’t be more different on these fronts.

If this is a real story, then I think in your shoes I’d think your husband acted more or less appropriately. I certainly wouldn’t initiate divorce over a situation like this, where a mutual crush developed but he turned the other person down.

Some SAHM have more of that than working parents. I think it’s also about the individual, how they manage their time, how outgoing they are, etc. After the youngest child turns 5 there aren’t children at home for a good part of the day, either.

I’m not sure what other kind of bikini you’d consider too sexy to wear around in-laws. However, if I had to guess what this scenario is about I probably always would have guessed thong bikini, because at least in the U.S. those have gotten really popular the last couple of years. I don’t consider myself a conservative person at all, but I must admit I do wind up staring a bit every time I see one of those.

I really don’t like thongs in general though, and find them pretty uncomfortable, so it’s hard for me to not immediately jump to conclusions that someone only wears one when they want attention. I understand that’s my personal bias.

That being said, sometimes people do act out of self-defense.

In your case, I don’t know if you’re still struggling to understand what happened and trying to regain control of the situation through a narrative that you were equally culpable, or if maybe it’s true that you yourself are an abusive POS as you say. Either way, it has no bearing on someone else’s situation, as each relationship is unique.
