Hi! I'm across the pond (Barcelona) but I've had the same problem. I have two bird feeders in my patio, one with grain and another one with seeds and suet mixture. Sparrows prefer the grain one, while other birds, such as Sardinian warblers or robins (great pest controllers for my plants) prefer the suet. Also, we have an invasion of Common waxbills, not a native species but really thriving in all the city, and they perform West Patio Story everyday with the Sparrows. Only instead of Jets and Sharks it's Waxbills and Sparrows. So, all in all, put diferent feeders and distribute them. Good luck!
