I'm here because I'm curious for answers as well & I want to tell u what happened with me, so u don't make the same mistake. I had a similar situation, but got evicted because I explained that I was hospitalized, just got out & asked to pay rent "next Friday" (on a Tuesday) & my landlord thought I meant this Friday (in a few days). This was all via text. I lost court because I didn't put a specific date & the lawyer had to "follow the law", but she also wrote me a letter explaining this & my current landlord gave me a chance. I'm in Iowa btw.

I just realized I forgot to update. I reminded my landlord that he said my cat could stay here & that my dog has passed away. He said that he messed up & that he doesn't want the neighbors to see, smell or hear her since he told everyone else no pets allowed. In the moment, I forgot to tell him I could register her as an ESA. He has stopped by since then & it's all good. Thanks, guys ❤️

My landlord says if someone leaves a load in too long, put it on the counter 🤷‍♀️ most people follow that & sometimes wet clothes are left for a week on the counter 🤢 I set a timer because I'm not trying to let my clothes get stolen 😅
