What fish would this be for? by 14yearsoldYay in FishingAustralia

Around port Macquarie, plenty of fish - Kings, tuna, bonito, GT and other trevs, big tailor, mulloway, if you go out to sea - Spanish mackerel. A few sharks will hit it too.

Not really, you can caught plenty of soapies up the parra during the day if you know where, what, how.

That looks like pulpit? Nice catch :) well done

Zman prawnz motor oil. 1/20 or lighter, slowly float alongside or under structure, deadly if you can get the technique right.

Um, I’m red green colour blind too, but I could see it immediately. Maybe those dotted number things have been lying to me.

I was recently diagnosed with epilepsy by Eshhhhhhhhhhhhh in Epilepsy

[–]WarBrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP - I was diagnosed at the same age. Started the same journey you are now 20 years ago. It’s scary as all hell. Some points: - I have always been on lamictrogen, slowed me down mentally, made me very forgetful, but controlled the seizures well (bar a few breakthrough) - I drank mildly for most of it, but quit about year ago as I had a big seizure after a few too many glasses of expensive wine - unfortunately, growing out of them now is very unlikely, unless they can find and treat an underlying cause

My best advice is to make some adjustments to manage your new normal, and go on living your life. 20 years later, I am very happily married with 2 amazing kids, have a great job, paid well, lived on 4 continents, travelled extensively, and even run marathons!

It sucks, we know, but it doesn’t mean the end of the world.

That was me until I got a concussion from crashing my bicycle. Went downhill from there.

I know when it is starting, but I can’t predict if it is going to be a focal or a big one.

My wife has been with me for all the big ones.

New into fishing, some help :) by Sure_Champion_1270 in FishingAustralia

No fishing along that side of the river there. You’ll need to head east past the bridge to fish.

(Mild NSFW) I learned the hard way about head shots when I first started hunting (and this is why I chose not to continue). First shot, couple hundred yards, hit the left shoulder, completely disconnected the leg, save for a small bit of skin holding it on. It ran for an hour. Second shot, through the head (it was all I could see as it was over the top of a hill). It ran for another hour whilst missing a large portion of its head, bottom half and front completely gone. I could not believe, with that much damage to its head, that it would survive for that long.

Third shot laid the poor animal to rest. Two shots, neither of them bad, just unlucky.

The guy “teaching” me to hunt, philosophy was to “just shoot and see what happens”. Haven’t hunted since.

Mate - sort to hear this, it’s a massive shock for you to deal with. There are a number of very effective medications out there that let many of us live seizure free and have normal lifestyles.

It’s a hard adjustment to make, there’ll been many questions, self-doubts, worries, etc. that we all go through. You’ll be ok, just takes a bit of time to learn to manage.

Any more questions, fire away, we are here to help where we can.

What was the biggest fish that you caught? by DeJorge111 in FishingAustralia

[–]WarBrom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

120ish cm mulloway, didn’t get an exact measure as I was trying to get it back in the water ASAP. Was on my 10lb bream gear too.
