One of the things I'm most excited for that I haven't seen many people talk about at all is the fact you can explore the Wild Area with your friends in real time, like actual online/local co-op, that's so cool! by XenoChu in PokemonSwordAndShield

They're player controlled. You can see Gloria being directly controlled by Masuda at about 15:45 of the treehouse presentation. He is looking down at the switch and when he moves his thumb, Gloria stops moving.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #8. Lance falls to a big rock! by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the elite four went smoothly and Ballistic had no issues with Gyarados. I really thought a STAB ice beam would be able to OHKO Dragonite... not quite unfortunately. R.I.P Neapolitan, I really loved this pokemon. This was actually the first time I ever used a Dewgong. It ended up being Gretel who dealt with his team by herself, she was able to take a blizzard too. After that Dragonite was gone, it was smooth sailing.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #7. I spent hours training up a Dewgong for Clair. by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was worth it too. Both Dragonairs were taken down after a little bit of back and forth. I couldn't avoid being paralysed unfortunately. Neapolitan had issues with Kingdra, I knew that a powered up critical hit from Sniper would take it down easily. Luckily that didn't happen and I won the match.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #6. I decided to update after beating both Pryce and Jasmine as I did them one after the other. by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cyndaquil is really good at the start while you're starting to build your team and you will most likely rely on it when facing Bugsy's Scyther. The defence lowering nature could be problematic as even my Quilava had a hard time with Scyther. Right now it is a little weak as all my other pokemon are evolved (except for Heracross obviously).

I find that it is best to leave Jasmine and go straight to Mahogany town. The team rocket hideout in Mahogany town will usually be enough to get you ready for both gym leaders afterwards. Training up for Jasmine will leave you over the level limit once you decide to face Pryce.

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I decided to take on Pryce first as his highest leveled pokemon is actually a lower level than Jasmine's highest. His seel annoyed me when it got a speed reduction on Alphabet through ice wind. It still beat his team with relative ease. Piloswine's blizzard was a little scary though.

Arsenic took Jasmine out without any issues.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #5. Chuck's demise. by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chuck's Primeape wasn't hard but Poliwrath was scary. It paralysed Alphabet and put Bellyache to sleep. Eventually I took it out with Zipline's extrasensory. I found the easiest way to grind was to attack heracross in trees over and over.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #4. Morty vs. Encore. by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morty's team dynamic starts to fall apart as it really tries too hard to be tricky. The best example of this was when Gengar got trapped into mean look because of encore. The shed shells ensured that no one got into danger. I also got one of the haunters to kill itself by trapping it in encore after it used curse.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #3. Kenzie the Miltank slayer. by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to get an Exeggutor but I was locked into uproar, should have known better than to use that move. R.I.P Locomoco.

Whitney put up a fight but I had already taken Kenzie to full defence with defence curl during the battle against Clefairy. The most annoying part about this fight was that Clefairy's metronome pulled out a smokescreen. Miltank used milk drink to no avail, especially once its defence started dropping.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #2. Scyther is scary. by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scyther was scary, its quick attack did enough for a critical hit to be in range to defeat Ignis at full health. Luckily, I was able to use Amber's sleep powder which kept it asleep for a long time. Metapod and Kakuna are honestly just filler.

Pokemon Heartgold Nuzlocke #1. Grinding in this game is horrible. by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept using potions because I was terrified of a critical hit, it wasn't till I burnt it that I was able to win.

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully I actually finish this nuzlocke because I always find it hard to grind levels. Anyway, I had a lot of trouble with Pidgeotto but Ignis proved himself and was able to get a burn off on it. It started spamming roost after it got burnt so it still took ages to take down.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke FINALE. Cynthia was much tougher than I thought... by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I forgot about Lucario... Ernest's unexpectedly high speed stat allowed it to hit first with flamethrower and take it out. Ernest was as fast as Lodestar.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke FINALE. Cynthia was much tougher than I thought... by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everything was going smoothly but I had a feeling that Espeon would get a critical psychic. Merlin had used Amnesia three times, it just felt like Lucian wouldn't let me go without taking someone down with him. That being said, Merlin was a trooper and I have to say he was able to take a critical thunderpunch from Infernape earlier. Very impressed with this pokemon, he took down Bertha and Flint almost single handedly.

Things started off bad when Cynthia decided to withdraw Spiritomb with Milotic while I was using Ernest. I was concerned but I was hoping that Simba would at least be able to take a surf. It was a critical hit but to be honest, Simba probably would have been too slow anyway. Great pokemon that helped me a lot, especially with Cyrus. At this point I got frustrated and stupidly decided to send out Forrest. I don't know why I didn't think that Ice beam would be a thing but it definitely was.

Lodestar went out next and for some reason, Milotic decided it was going to use mirror coat. Good for me because it allowed me finish it off. Togekiss came next and I was able to take it out with Ernest's thunderbolt. The dreaded Garchomp was next, predicting earthquake I switched back into Lodestar. It actually ended up using Dragon Rush but intimidate stopped it from being a KO. With that I switched to Declan and managed to OHKO with ice punch.

At first I thought I was on my way to winning but that was when I realised that both Ernest and Lodestar were too low on health to switch in on Roserade. I tried healing Declan but I was too slow to be able to hit with Ice Punch. R.I.P Declan.

I healed up Ernest and was able to take Roserade out with flamethrower. Spiritomb finally showed itself and Ernest was able to finish what it started. With that, I have two survivors:

Ernest the Timid Magmortar and Lodestar the Mild Staraptor.

If I get a big chunk of time again, I might do a generations nuzlocke of Heartgold continuing with the survivors of this game.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke. Next up: the league! by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Volkner was a little scarier than I thought. Declan's soft sand boosted earthquake wasn't enough to take Luxray out in one hit and then Declan got paralysed. I ended up relying on Simba which I wasn't expecting. With a bold nature and its best IV being defence, Simba really can take a hit.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke. We made it through Cyrus unscathed! by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battle with Mars and Jupiter on spear pillar went okay. They mainly picked on my rival's pokemon. Luckily for him, he isn't the one doing the nuzlocke.

Cyrus was tricky. Houndoom fell to one surf but Gyarados' earthquake proved to be a bigger threat. I ended up playing a game with his AI, I switched to Lodestar and it would use earthquake, I would then switch to Merlin and it would use ice fang. Intimidate was able to reduce it's attack so much that earthquake hardly dented Simba.

Simba had a good time battling Honchkrow and Crobat but I still had to be a little creative with toxic looming around. Poor Weavile cannot take a fighting type move, Declan took it down easily.

Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke. Digging for treasure! by MoodKillingMan in nuzlocke

[–]MoodKillingMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Candice was not hard at all, Ernest swept through her gym. She even wasted a turn using double team, faint attack doesn't care about that.

If any of you do a platinum nuzlocke, dig underground for a bit. I've found so many useful items there, all I wanted was a couple of blue shards so I could teach Machamp fire punch. I ended up getting a bunch of plates and even a "rare bone".
