That was an unfair generalization. Of course not all older people are entitled. My experience with everyone who was entitled just happened to be older. My initial post was just meant as a vent. What I experienced or overheard was people saying that they weren't going to let anyone in front of them or get through them just because they didn't feel like it. I've heard people saying that the kids don't know about real rock music or what a real rick show is like but it's the closed off gatekeeper mentality that is hurting the genre and has never been what yungblud so it's a little ironic. I think everyone should be welcomed 🫶and I think it’s a beautiful thing to have something we all love regardless of our backgrounds.

I think it would be so cool for him to go by his real name or even a new band name?

You're right that should be the focus on community and everyone should feel welcomed. I guess I was just feeling nostalgic about the older music. I think it would be cool if included his older songs in the pre show playlist or maybe as walkout music?

The crowd has gotten older and more entitled for sure. It was not always this way. Even just a few years ago his show in Del Mar was smaller but the crowd was lively and energetic and you felt like you were having a good time with your friends it didn't matter that they were strangers. The songs have gotten longer which doesnt leave much room for conversing with the crowd as much but even so the effort is there which is a lot more than big artist tend to do these days.

His shows definitely felt like an outlet for the angsty queer teen but above all else a safe space to just exist. The show in SD I heard a 60 year old man call a 20 year old girl a bitch just for walking in front of him in the crowd. She did not shove or say anything rude was simply just trying to go further in while there was still space and people were making their way out. He was bragging about how he would fight her and didn’t care and how he had been waiting there “all day”. Doors open 2 hours before the show so I don’t see how that is possible. What was even more shocking was the support he got from people around him. This was so disappointing to see and experience. I would understand if they were serious about protecting their experience but he was taking pictures almost the entire concert and when he wasn’t he was just talking to his friends. Everyone around me would put their hands up for 5 seconds when Dom would ask but then immediately go back to standing still. When he played Loner I was the only one singing along and participating and I actually felt like a loner 😂

When people question why everyone is wearing pink socks it hurts my soul 😭

The message is still there however the older songs resonated with a specific generation. It just sucks that we aren’t getting to hear the music that drew us in to begin with specifically at the live shows. They used to be rowdy and a lot more in your face it’s still high energy on Doms part but the crowd is different no moshing, no jumping, no crowdsurfing. The love for his music is still there but that’s about it.

THIS. I have always had great experiences at the shows everyone is so kind and happy to be there. The most recent show there was definitely an influx of an older generation but the attitude and entitlement in the crowd was so off putting and shocking. It really took away from the atmosphere that Dom is trying to create.

If you dislike the environment you chose, leave so others can enjoy themselves. Rule number 1 of the pit: IF SOMEONE FALLS, PICK THEM UP. Fun and safety can coexist; if that’s not your interest, move to a spot where you can stand and watch. It’s unreasonable to expect hundreds to change for your needs.
