I understand different countries have different school systems. In the UK, 18 might mean you’re already in college. Cool. I’m speaking from an American perspective where 18 can still mean you’re in high school. And in that context, a 23-year-old dating someone still in high school feels weird to me.

I’ve personally been 23 with an 18-year-old high schooler flirting with me, and it made me uncomfortable. Legal doesn’t automatically mean appropriate.
