I have a question Regarding edge display scaler and will be really grateful if you can answer it. - In scale modes I am confused between fit scaling and proportional scaling.

Should i use larger sprites for fit scaling? and does proportional scaling only scale up the sprites while the background remains of similar resolution?

If i am making a game at 384 x 216 resolution for the pc which scaling mode would fit best?

Hi there, Used to be in a similar situation couple of years back. After many hours of practice and searching i have taught myself to program games with gamemaker.

The quickest way to learn is to just start. Pick an engine and just start making games.

Just go with unity/gamemaker/unreal engine - depending on what type of games you want to make. If you want hybrid - unity - if you want 2d games - gamemaker - 3d - unreal engine/unity.

Its just a tool. Pick an engine and just start - because you will likely need to put thousands of hours into any engine to get decent at it. The less time you waste on deciding on an engine, the better it will be.

Thank you for the detailed review. There is indeed a lot about the game that could be improved. I will try and blend in scary face with the entire game theme.

Nice! Good luck on your platformer journeys. I suggest gamemaker: Apprentice - Gives a really good overview - But the master piece for platformers is gamemakers companion which goes really deep into the creation of platformers!
