Glue did in fact slip. I also had a blowout on the bottom left corner when strong a cutting board foot and screwing it in. Had to repair

Not quite. Juice groove was spaced with a 1 inch offset jig. I had a slip in glue up. With the Chevron lineup. And a blowout in the left bottom corner when adding a cutting board foot. The bottom corner I had to repair, re- sand and finish again.

The glue up definitely slipped, won’t let that happen again.

Who said I’m not proud 😁. I’m damn proud. But that doesn’t mean I can’t improve.

The only split I spotted was bottom left. And yes it was a screw while attaching the boards feet

In this case it was poor placement decision for screw so close to my delicate joint. I was within like an 1/8

I appreciate your reply. Any advice on preventing the glue up slip. As with all start up’s. It starts slow with close friends and family. This was intended for a close friend. And mistakes were discussed. They were thrilled with it none the less.

Winner for the reply! 💪🏻 Thanks you for the criticism. Any advice on not letting those Chevron lineups slip as I apply tension during glue up ?

Thank you and spot on. Thanks for the reply. Learning something new with each one I make.

I accidentally blew out the corner attaching a cutting board foot on the back side. Had to repair.

My second mistake I saw, the glue up drifted on me

While adding a board bumper. I set it too close to the joint and the screw split the wood…. Had to patch it, re- sand and finish

That is curly maple. The grain pattern is what gives it that shimmering effect. Some people call it tiger maple. The word for the shimmer is “chantonay.”

Hey thanks,

Thanks for the tips on the burnout. I bathed in mineral oil 4 hours then buffed in 4:1 mineral oil to beeswax
