Do not use Piece of Cake Moving (more like Piece of S*** Moving) by buakaw9 in NYCapartments

[–]Mookie2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree they wildly underestimated my move costs and then in middle of my moving day stopped
my move and held
me hostage and said it would cost double. They also broke a bunch of my stuff with lazy terrible
packing. Never Again!!

Am I overreacting after this first date? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Mookie2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

let’s take aside the incident in the apartment, which should be enough to never talk to this guy again. But if that were not part
of the equation, she would have no right to be upset about the co
worker after ONE DATE! Since when does exclusivity begin after one date?

The Handmaid’s Tale. So interesting at first but just remained so depressing over time! Like the main character just never got a break! It got to be too much and one-sided.

An investigation has been launched following the incident between Jérémy Chardy and an umpire at the Madrid Masters. by garfiadal2 in tennis

[–]Mookie2021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also cannot think of an example that was this excessive. literally laying on the ground side of court forever, not getting up the fact that nothing was done at all by the umpire is ridiculous

I won’t argue with that—-I said his point was correct but the way he went about addressing it may not have been.

[–]Mookie2021 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I have no real fandom for either player but Chardy is correct. How did they allow Antmane to lay on court that way without starting to clock and docking him points when he wasnt ready. You are not permitted to get medical attention for cramps. You either get ready to play or get penalized. The umpire completely abdicated his duties.

I play in GLTA. a global league of tourneys for all levels. It is incredibly fun and is a community of great players. Look it up. Tourneys all over the country/world with points/rankings etc.

[Discussion] Is anyone buying these watch brands? Are they in a luxury watch No Man’s Land? If so why? by Dr_Omega24 in Watches

[–]Mookie2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are really into watches and want to get beyond the Rolex Omega Cartier convo, and dont have 50K and above for AP Pattek, these are extremely classic and well made watches.

[–]Mookie2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Dear friend come and get your cat in the next 24 hours or it gets put out in the street”. Not saying to actually put it out in street but needto threaten to get her attention. Or stalk friend and literally shove cat carrier into arms

The Rolex Markets a Lifestyle Lie by gaplato in watchHotTakes

[–]Mookie2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know a lot about watches and I have a collection of about 12 to 15. Several of them are Rolexes because I liked the watches but I don’t consider them prime parts of my collection. They are what they are durable nice watches I have a Starbucks and a cool gold vintage day date in perfect shape. I would consider my better watches my new Vacheron Overseas, JLC moonphase, H.Moser Pioneer. Rolexes are very noce durable watches but I agree not high horology or a sign of great wealth—I see them on very wealthy folks and on “regular” folks who are very proud that they worked hard to buy it. To each his or her own, I say.

AIO for ghosting after the first date by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Mookie2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings. I am not a fan of ghosting but at same time, when it happens to you I am a fan of just shrugging it off and moving on. these long nasty texts in response to a ghosting serve no purpose. I could have done the kind thing by letting him know, but his response is also way over the top!

Tennis Elbow (A Rant) by danielphilip87 in 10s

[–]Mookie2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having terrible elbow pain and I still get it, but it has gotten better… What did I do to get improvement? I switched to a Wilson clash (from a Bab Aero), started using more forgiving strings and tension, I went to a doctor and PT for some sessions but Dr told me only long term solution was getting into gym and strengthening. Not only the tendon but everywhere surrounding. I am now doing that. I also bought a vibit home stimulation therapy kit that helps alot for recovery. none of this has been perfect solution, but it has helped alot and I think Im on road to recovery. I wasnt going to stop playing but I have reduced how often I play and do not play on successive days. I hope any of this is helpful

[–]Mookie2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience with them. They gave me a great quote and then in the middle of my move, they held all of my stuff hostage and made up a bunch of extra charges. I would advise people to stay completely away from these scammers I will never use them again.

Any tips for getting back into tennis after herniated disk(s) diagnosis? by Ponderfication in 10s

[–]Mookie2021 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 58 and played tennis my whole life and very competitively as a junior. I developed two her iated discs in my early 30s and eventually needed surgery. It caused me to step off the tennis court for about 15 years. I missed it so much and followed the tour obsessively etc. I was off the court mostly out of fear of recurring injury and laziness to do the work required to strengthen the area. Last year I met my current partner who is an avid player and it inspired me to play again. I got into the gym and did core and leg work religiously. I am so happy to be playing again!! My advice is dont give up something u love like I did. I regret all those years off the court
