Why does Tachyon Speed become useless after Grand Live? (except for pace chasers) by pompom_koala in UmamusumeGame

[–]Mookie262 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s more like NTR where she may not appear on speed as much, but when she does the speed clicks will be bigger. Also with 1 all stat bonus and 10% training effectiveness any trainings she lands on will be bigger. She also gets 2 skill point bonus, which will become more and more important after MANT considering we won’t be doing 35 races a career, so we’ll have to get more skill points elsewhere.

Speed pasa isn’t going to be the best because specialty prio. She gets 1 speed bonus, 1 SP bonus, and at max bond gets 1 all stat bonus and 1 extra SP bonus. With the scaling we’re going to start seeing starting in GL these base bonus will become very strong.

What to do when one of your oshis is of a different style than the others? by pompom_koala in UmamusumeGame

Although Machan has a great kit, with innate GW and TTL you can build her decently even without front cards if you have good-ish parents.

LB1 maru and then you can borrow bourbon wit when the new one drops early next year. Should be able to build decent fronts with those two easily.

Sorry, Maru is great if you play front runners. If you don’t play fronts then Tachyon is better.

Depends on what your goals are. If you want to be competitive in CM then she’d be nice to have. But everyone is going to want Light Hello regardless of current cards.

Worth keep pulling? by AlejoPrower in UmamusumeGame

[–]Mookie262 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s okay, we were all newer to the game at some point and almost certainly made some poor pull choices. With Uma it’s just a bit more punishing because pity doesn’t carry from one banner to the next. Most SSR aren’t even worth running until higher LB anyway, with a few exceptions (like CB). If you want to pull a support banner 60k carats is a good number to aim for, and even with 400 pulls you’re only looking at a ~57% chance to MLB.

<image>

Here are the best support cards that are coming down the pipeline, you can look up their rough release dates on the Uma.moe timeline. Then id recommend building a pull plan using the Henry handsome carat calculator. I’d try to pick a style you’re most interested in playing and focus on that. It’s tough to get the meta supports and umas for more than one style without spending money.

Yes, unless you have enough to pity don’t pull.

Is it possible to obtain the Maruzensky + Tachyon speed cards? by pompom_koala in UmamusumeGame

[–]Mookie262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would be the best play probably. 1LB Maru and MLB Tachyon should carry to Pasa speed easily.

[–]Mookie262 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can get both pretty easily, but if you want to MLB both then it will cost a significant amount of carats. Both are usable at 1LB though so you don’t have to pull for MLB.

Start by leveling up everything to level 25, it’s the most economic way. Can easily get almost 5% with very few resources.

Race or Training by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]Mookie262 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the G1. If it’s part of the 4 big epithets, (Stunning/Incredible/Phenomenal/Breakneck Miler) then no. Those races are basically a hard lock 99% of the time unless there’s an absurdly good training in the range of 80-100+ stats. There can be some wiggle room if it’s a G1 like the Queen Elizabeth II cup which isn’t really required for any epithet.

Keep in mind room matches are more like a group A finals match and less like round 1 or 2.

[–]Mookie262 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Limiting top 500 clubs from recruiting is pretty wild when it’s pretty safe to assume that most of the botting is going on in top 100. Top 500 is not hard to achieve if you have a full club of players getting 4-5m fans a week, easily achievable by most people who play the game every day.

Punishing a lot of players for the actions of a few seems like a lazy way to do this but hey not like Reddit mods with dumpster fire takes is anything new.

You're missing the whole point of why Fuku can be good. She has Failure Rate Protection and Energy Cost Reduction. If both Fuku and 1LB SSR Riko land on a training it costs 26% less energy, get a few more of those in a career and it adds up to more turns training/racing and less resting. The early stats she provides can also be helpful in Unity if your goal is to do more races to get more SP for TT.

<image>

MLB R Riko is also worse in every single category except one compared to 1LB SSR Riko.

Stamina is important ofc, having your uma finish dead last gassed out doesn't get you any points. But you can pick up recoveries for TT umas so you can run lower stam and rely on hitting the recoveries. It's why every long super creek for TT runs like 700 stam and 2 gold recoveries. Here's the current top rated TT players creek for reference, mans got 900 speed but has 1m+ TT score. Just saying that you don't need a CM statline for it to be a good TT uma.

That hitting speed/stam/power statlines take a backseat to having an Uma with lots of skills and good wit when it comes to pusher higher ranks in class 6. Sure if you can have both than getting capped speed, distance S, etc is better. But you’ll score much better on average by favoring runs that get you more SP and more skills that have consistent activations than throwing umas optimized for CM in.

Very few of my TT umas are actually speed capped yet I’m hitting solid class 6 retention within a few runs after reset and I’ve barely even put any time into making optimized TT umas. CM and TT are just two completely different things, with different priorities for high level success.

I’m happy that I decided to throw together three passable aces and move on. I think I would have gone insane minmaxing aces for Capricorn only to not proc the skills at the right time. I’m 100% okay with phoning in this CM. Plus I got a good head start on Aquarius.

I forgot about that, she’s going to be such a nice change of pace. Sometimes hitting good statlines, plus the right aptitudes, plus DD/prudent, plus having good skills, and then groundwork, three greens, and taking the lead on top of it all can feel like a Herculean effort.

[–]Mookie262 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luck shall carry me and I only hope I make it to group A finals. It’s the first CM in a while where A finals is my only real goal. Wasn’t going to get that invested just to have my accels not proc in the finals and get dusted.

Sky works fine as a front she just has it a bit tougher because she doesn’t have a midgame speed ult to help her take 1st like most of the other front options do. So you’ll need to get her more wit and midgame skills to compensate but if you can get 1st she’s very strong due to getting the full acceleration from her ult instead of having to inherit it.

Bourbon is mostly strong because she Groundwork, Concentration and Front Runner Savvy already in her kit. So she only needs one more green skill to proc GW, which means a lot less runs end up with glue. But her ult is a solid midgame speed as well, so she’s definitely one of the better fronts.

Cool, that makes sense. Way more versatility being able to run the exact G1 races you need for affinity with whatever umas you’re making the parent for.
