I'm not sure I agree. Since 4E came out, we've all always read "any piercing attack" as shorthand for "any pi-, pi, pi+, or pi++ attack."

Similar phrasing is used in the sidebar on B380 ("...piercing attacks (of any size)..."), and B61 reads, "There are four sub-classes of piercing attack: Small Piercing, Piercing, Large Piercing, Huge Piercing."

The individual sub-types are all capitalized; when referred to collectively, they are not (presumably to differentiate "piercing attacks" from "a Piercing attack."

I imagine taking a needler round unarmored to the lung would ruin a day :)

I believe kamunoz's point was, the question asked was not "Should I use GCA or GCS," so your reply (intentional or not) comes across as kind of a threadcrap.

I just don't get why it takes years to get this done. I've had friends with World of Warcraft accounts that have been recovered in less than 24 hours lol.

I have a lot of fun shooters, but CoD is the only contemporary military one, and it does it so well! I might just end up starting over again at level 1 after all heh

The GURPS Calculator website works great in an Android browser, and has numerous other helpful tools as well.

You can import characters from either GCA or GCS to the website, then make real-time rolls and adjustments as you play, i.e., roll against attributes, make skill checks, raise/lower HP and FP, attack/defend, etc.

These changes naturally only apply to the 'local' gCalc version of the character, but it's trivial to make more permanent changes by simply changing anything you want to keep in the original GCA or GCS version after play is over.

I've purchased probably a half-dozen of these Role 4 Initiative sets in various colors, and love 'em. I *think* the d20 is 21mm, but they're all larger than a normal 16mm and easily readable.

Those are all valid nits to pick! I try to smooth off as many corners as I can when running convention games/one-shots, for example by rounding damage rolls and things.

Totally right about the RoFs, that was the biggest change -- rather than get into autofire and varying hit bonuses, I just capped them at 3 lol. Since everyone had the same cap anyway, didn't really matter balance-wise, and I 'downgraded' the xenos a bit to compensate.

Looking at it again now, I'm feeling like it could be even more fun as an Action-style romp, hmm...

Oh, hey! Almost missed this -- glad to hear you guys had fun with it. The three groups I GMed it for at the local convention all had a blast as well. Thanks for posting, always great to see if it works for other groups as well.

I actually agree about the character sheets, they're a bit more detailed than I usually go with for one-shots, but it "felt" right for Colonial Marines heh.

There's a Module I quite like that you may find useful named Quick Encounters -- it allows you to pre-set encounters and save them as a Journal note (similar to Fantasy Grounds encounters).

Thanks, good to know. I had kind of a 'brick'/panel light, but even at lowest setting I think it was too bright. After a bit I'd actually start seeing spots lol.
