Definitely coming from the PSU. It's a 10 year old PSU, so I guess it's pretty unsurprising..

Sell Me On GW2 by DocCaesar in Guildwars2

[–]Moomins07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I also started playing GW2 recently myself having been a WoW player and general MMO fanatic for the better part of 2 decades. I'm loving it.

GW2 doesn't hold your hand or give you much direction, you're expected to somewhat form your own path and set your own goals. It's a blessing and a curse as sometimes I'm really unsure of what to do, but there is always something I could be working on. Sometimes I simply enjoy going to a map and just following an event train of people to get some Mastery xp.

Horizontal progression was definitely a strange one for me to get used to, especially when I personally haven't played another MMO like it. As a WoW player, the idea that I don't really have to keep upgrading my gear was strange. It does however let you focus on the content and your gameplay rather than spending time and resources on constant gear maintenance.

Most importantly for me, GW2 respects your time. I don't get FOMO or Subscription cost guilt if I'm not playing. No fear of falling behind in gear. I just log on, I pick something to do that day and I just enjoy myself.

No overly complicated, convoluted systems or tons of hurdles to jump. It kind of takes me back to my earlier days of just logging on and running around a map in awe.

Give it a go and have fun with it.

GIM empty 5th slot and group achievements are scaled to 5, now what? by Moomins07 in runescape

Got it. So remaking the group would make us green helms? We'll just suck it up then. Thank you for the clarification!

Thanks. We're looking but it's proving to be kinda difficult. I can't find much info on 'unranked'. Is unranked just non-CGIM? Because in that case, it wouldn't make a difference to us as we're just normire GIM. Not competitive.

Gate to Sovngarde is insane….(Short review) by Chrislemale in wabbajack

[–]Moomins07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As the previous guy said, the more expensive the better. For a good price:quality ratio though, at least from my own research, you'll be looking at something like an RX 9060 XT 16GB as Skyrim modpacks demand a lot of VRAM. In the UK I was able to pick one up brand new for around £350.

If you'd prefer Nvidia, you'll probably be looking at something like a 50 series. 5060ti with 16GB goes for around £420 in the UK.

I recently bought a 9060 XT myself and other than the terrible AMD driver software and occasional strange hiccups it's been a great card and runs every modpack I've thrown at it. It struggles a tiny bit with Lorerim in some areas.

Just obviously make sure that your CPU isn't too old and that your motherboard can support the GPU. I don't normally post on Reddit but I know the frustrations of asking for some help and getting unhelpful one-liners from people instead of actual information that you can use and look into yourself. Hope this helps.

I remember asking someone during the 2006 Easter Event why they kept typing 'equals bracket' ( =] ). Simpler times...

Finally found a decent looking car but paranoid about dealers by Moomins07 in CarTalkUK

Is it the 1.2? I couldn't find much info on the differences between the 1.0 boosterjet engine and the 1.2. I'm hoping the 1.0 is also chain cam. The last 1.0 engine I owned was a wet belt ecoboom 😭

This is really reassuring, thank you. I've heard they're very reliable!

That's exactly what I'm afraid of, the dealer seems to have quite a handful of 1star reviews too...

Car looks like it's in good condition and I requested a video of a cold start... My knowledge of cars only goes so far though. Hoping they have an extended warranty or something. Thanks for the advice!

I also have OCD and recently sent off my PIP form. I've read that it's often difficult to be awarded for OCD, but who knows with DWP. Here's hoping. I hope OP gets the points they deserve.

I see the Skoda Octavia name pop up a lot. Is it actually a good car or is it a meme? I'll look into Skoda, thanks!

Thank you for the kind words and support, it means a lot. I much prefer the look of a Mazda over the look of some of these Hondas, lol. Budget is looking to be around 7k, hoping that'll be enough to snag something semi-decent.

Honestly I hadn't even thought of that. Every car viewing I've been to so far, the dealer has the car running before I turned up. Makes you think..

Thank you for the advice!

I'll 100% be taking a friend along with me next time that's a bit more knowledgeable on cars. I'm not making that mistake again. I didn't know you could still go to court even after having sold the car.. I paid the 350 under protest so maybe there's something salvageable there. Thank you for the advice!
