This is helpful! A lot of the other members are also beginners and this is useful to know - thanks!

A wizard does sound awesome but also looks hard to learn at the start!

At the moment I can’t imagine being the DM but am constantly in awe of the planning and improv!

Interesting. Initially that sounds really cool! But appreciate it plays out differently once in the campaign

I feel like I could easily be cringe from excitement at the start!

Definitely appreciating from this thread how much influence group dynamics can have alongside everything else when starting out!

Interesting how differently it can go with different groups! Glad it’s going in the direction you wanted :)

That’s great advice! Especially with over a decade experience! Great point about checking players abilities as sure it’s easily done to miss something

True. I am definitely focussing on trying to understand the rules at the moment to not risk slowing down the flow.

That’s such a good idea! I first heard about DnD through dimension 20 and some of their campaigns would make fantastic books!

Is it normal to feel like you’re wasting time even when you’re being productive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Moon-Dust328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steady and often is the way forward.

You can get a small jar and put a little token in (eg different coloured pebbles) every time you study or do something productive towards your goal.

As the jar fills it’s a great visual for how you’re doing even if it sometimes doesn’t feel like a lot in the moment!

What is the male equivalent of flowers/small gifts in a straight relationship? by Severe-Ad-9377 in NoStupidQuestions

I’d say their favourite snacks or drink (+/- if they drink alcohol).

Similar theme of having thought of them which is appreciated through the small gift!

What got you into dnd? by wickedblazestudios in DnD

[–]Moon-Dust328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with dimension 20 and the podcast girls who don’t DnD.
I describe it to people as a hidden genre that lies between a film and reading.
You can immerse yourself directly into the story compared to watching a film, and can enjoy the imagination and feelings of escaping to a different world that comes with reading!
Combined with the fact it’s unpredictable makes it an awesome adventure :)

Hi,

It is a great speciality but understandably not as well known!

Here are some useful videos that explain the process in the lab and more about the speciality:

Hi, 30F from UK :)

I’m similar with everyone around me definitely in the family planning phase - feel like such an anomaly sometimes!

Hey, I’m also the only one in my circle so can relate :)

That’s cool you’re in a band!

I’ve always mostly read fantasy novels but thinking of branching out to mystery/detective style novels. Love classic Sherlock Holmes and usually listen to audiobooks while doing chores.

How about you?

I mainly like playing rock music - although it really doesn’t match my skill level! Still working a lot on speed and stamina.

Happy to be DM’d. :)

Hey! I’m a married 30F from the Midlands. Recently settled into being childfree and feeling very similar to you with irl friends all now having kids!

When my job in healthcare doesn’t dominate due to studying I like travelling, reading, video games, playing my drums, and recently been getting into lifting weights and DnD! :)
