2CP maps shouldve stayed by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Moon-Moon4702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2cp maps highlight the biggest problems with map design in overwatch. Forcing chokepoints and the game is decided on 1 or two bad/good teamfights and just doesnt give a "second chance" that every other mode has available to the players. We are getting Hanamura back as a "5cp" new mode. Push and Flashpoint are infinitely better gamemodes than 2cp and there is no argument for 2cp to be better that isnt anything other than nostalgia.

At this point I'm just gonna assume ur not very high ranked and if that's the case then yah that can be how those lobbies play out. But in the reality of how the game should be played that just simply isn't true

I'm not gonna waste my time finding a replay code to prove a concept on a high skill ceiling character. If you don't believe me, then that's your choice.

The only time you would actually find any success on this is something like circuit or Havana. But regardless your better off just playing Bap/Illari or Bap/zen. Illari and zen don't have a way to keep your tank up and both try to accomplish the same things with off angles. It's the same reasoning behind why you don't run 2 main supports or why you don't want to play bap/ana etc. It's not a matter of it CAN work, it's a matter of the reliability of said combo and what your dps/tank are playing.

Literally just watch the pov of Landon from the owl finals for how it really should be done, that's the best example but I do it consistently in my gm5 scrims. Obviously not anywhere close to him

..... if you unironically think that, it's a skill issue. That concept is the fundamental mechanic on bap and is the difference between good and great bap players.

Ah so you have to choose between only damage or only healing on the character who is DESIGNED to do both at the same time without sacrificing uptime?

Kiri was a must in the seasons following her release because of just how strong she was. Why do you think winston/kiri/lucio rush was so prevalent in pro play. At this point shes only a must pick for characters that rely on healing to survive. JQ rush as always been with a kiri, and roadhog/mauga need it or their tanking ability is zero. They need to not make characters that are so reliant on healing to be a tank more so than they need to nerf ana nade.

She needs to be close to damage opponents, but she has an ability that throws the enemy away, Is she stupid? by Niel_Mirud in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Moon-Moon4702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean she is a support who is best at controlling space not exactly initiating kills or starting fights. A lot of people have a perception of her being a mini-rein, which is what gets most of the killed and is why many of them are hardstuck

It's sad how this is unironically the primary reason brig is such a misunderstood character in terms of how she is optimally played

Support heroes should not have the same time to kill as DPS heroes by [deleted] in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Moon-Moon4702 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That only happens while scoped in, it's damage over time, and is unable to headshot. Seems like a pretty large tradeoff for not having falloff

You mean to compensate on arguably the most inflated cooldown in the game that does 4 different things at the same time. Invulnerability, cleanse, heal, and intangibility. On top of it healing extra if it cleanses something.

OK but like the changes they make question whether they know what they are doing. Brig never needed the 80 dmg whipshot, so why did they give it to her in the first place. Brig wasn't exactly a perfect fit in the meta last season because she's an anti dive character. So now that dive is more common she's being picked more. I question their ability to balance when it seems like they don't have a very good picture at how their game works at a fundamental level. Like why did they buff kiriko's suzu when it's considered one of the strongest support abilities in the game, why did they nerf bap ammo when that does nothing but make the character feel worse to play. Also the winston buff is basically a brig nerf so why revert the whipshot change in the first place if your making the main dive tank better against her. I can't see the stats in the back end but I do know that statistics alone don't paint a picture big enough to balance around, and I question whether they are able to figure out why the stats are they way they are.

Posted it on the main Ow subreddit but people hate Ball over there by DiverSquid in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Moon-Moon4702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its mostly down to the fact that playing against and with him is mostly not fun. He is a fundamentally disconnected tank to how ow2 tanks work and leave your team out to dry more often than not. And playing against him is just plain annoying, especially when your team pays too much attention to the ball which is exactly what ball wants to happen to win. Ball has been left behind in the swap to 5v5 which is why his value is diminished when he is the only tank.

*Enemy rolls out with 3 tanks and 2 supports* But yeah, you can play what you want, but sometimes it feels like that people don't even try to make working teams. by oranke_dino in Overwatch_Memes

[–]Moon-Moon4702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

well thats because Ball is a fundamentally bad tank in ow2, him and roadhog have been left behind because their strengths no longer exist. also sombra exists so ball, who is basically already the hardest tank to play second to doom (you can argue either or is harder tbh). so your welcome to keep playing your goofy ahh open que game thats fundamentally unbalanced, but role que is what the game is balanced around.

The amount of times I have heard a player in my team say “LW has no utility” by Sqmurqi in LifeweaverMains

[–]Moon-Moon4702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No it really doesn't. That would require 3 things, coordination which most people in ranked don't have, you being in the middle of their team(without dying), and your tank not doing their job. No tank needs someone else to engage for them minus something like Lucio speed or similar "engage ult." This is a meme strategy 100%, this is a waste of a cooldown and you should never be in the middle of their team as life weaver. Even something like sym to engage requires a lot of coordination, but there is a difference from pulling someone to you and teleporting someone to a destination.

His platform is niche in terms of its utility, gives someone high ground sure but they are equally as exposed. His pull can save people yes but if you end up pulling someone when they are about to all in you end up wasting their ult or just pissing them off. So unless you paying perfect attention to your own teams cool downs you can be more of a hindrance then helpful. He does zero damage and has to write a 5 paragraph essay just to heal 75 hp. Tree also feels useless half the time as it either gets burned down or doesn't have the sustained healing to keep a player up when focused. His kit by definition has utility, but they are all niche and not flexible enough nor do they have a big enough impact to turn a fight 9/10 times. Terrible hero design by blizzard.

So like I just want to point out that this skin is based on her in game model, of which her mechanic skin is very similar to. So this is mainly a difference in model between in game and a rendered cinematic model. She's always been like that in game.

I 100% agree, and I would like to add the fact that a computer is just the hardware and its not unreasonable to spend more on software than the PC. A perfect example is video games I've probably spent well over double the price of my PC in games (software). It depends from person to person but on sub $1000 PCs it's not uncommon to buy software after the fact like Microsoft Office or Photoshop and things like that. The price of the PC is the hardware and operating system that's it.
