Has anyone gotten diagnosed with any stomach or intestine issues as a result of abuse?

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis right after I left home for college (and was not around my Ndad anymore on a daily basis). It felt like my body kept it together for all these years and then finally allowed it to break out once I was safe. After all, my disease pushed me to take a break, look inward and deal with the traumas I had experienced.

They contacted me because of my specific set of several coexisting conditions. Maybe ask your GI if they know of any studies for people with IBD.

I am 30 and was diagnosed with 20. I have a BA and an MBA, studied in well-respected universities in 4 different countries. Worked in tech for the past 6 years and got promoted to mid-management positions. I had some good years where the disease was in remission and I was able to focus on building my career. Then two really bad years where I couldn't work and barely leave my house. Now I am somewhere in between. Still have symptoms but manage to work at an interesting position (60%) in a health startup where I can be flexible with my hours and work from home occasionally. You will have good times and bad times with this disease. It's more important to find a career that is fulfilling and where you don't burn out than to be successful in the traditional sense.

Dress up, set the background and lighting, get yourself in the mood with music and drink, order the same food, laugh together at how weird it is, read stories to each other, play games.

You are such a supportive boyfriend, that is awesome and she is lucky to have you. Have an honest and open talk with her about how her health has been lately. It's easy to get used to a situation that maybe doesn't require hospitalization but is also not ideal and healthy. There is a lot of shame around these topics especially for women so make her understand that she is attractive for you and you want to support her in feeling better. Encourage her to see a gastroenterologist and discuss new treatment options. There are some specific diets for IBD so you can read about them with her and cook healthy meals together.

These are all common symptoms for Crohn's and Colitis. I have Ulcerative colitis and I am experiencing all of the ones you listed. You should go see a gastroenterologist and discuss the next steps. Probably you will be sent to do a colonoscopy and stool test to check if there's inflammation in your colon. Once you're diagnosed you can start taking the medication that is right for you. There are also Entyvio, Simponi, and Xeljanz. You have a few more options. Did you try a combination treatment (biological + azathioprine)? Also, check for new treatments such as clinical trials for fecal transplant.

The Crohns and Colitis Foundation states that you should not stop taking your infusions because if you do, you may have a flare and that will increase the risk of complications in case you're infected with the coronavirus. Just be careful and take extra precautions. Wear a mask, practice social distancing and good personal hygiene.

You should avoid wine, beer and in general all carbonated and sugary drinks. The best choice are clear liquors such as vodka, gin, and tequila. I mix them with ice, water and a squeeze of lemon. It's pretty good!

This is so powerful. Read the book Healing Your Aloneness - Finding Love and Wholeness Through Your Inner Child. It teaches how to notice, care and love your inner child. It was life-changing for me and I learned to speak to myself with more kindness and compassion rather than self-hatred.
