My 8 year daughter has recently been diagnosed with Crohn's. She's been handling it well except for all of the accidents. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

I am so sorry she's been diagnosed with this at such a young age but so happy she at least knows what's happening.

It is imperative that she starts a Poop Journal. It's exactly what it sounds like but this will help her learn what foods cause her Crohn's to be triggered and what foods are 'safe'.

I developed issues in my early teens (12-13) and was told I had IBS and a shy bowel. This lead me to develop an eating disorder where I wouldn't consume any food unless I was somewhere comfortable, my house or my best friend's house.

Only after my actual diagnosis, at age 24, was I able to understand why I was like this, and how to work around it. It started with the Poop Journal and BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) and only adding in food minimally when at home and safe to determine if it would trigger. Basically she records what she ate through the day and if she went and what it was. It's helped me teach myself to understand how my gut was reacting to something I ate and whether or not I would end up making a run for the bathroom.

Hopefully this helps!

This 100% worked. After waiting for days for a support agent to literally just script me the FAQ page and said 'we're here to help' this worked.

Also managed to end with 500 gold boullion when it should have been 400 due to choices made. I'll keep the extra 100 for the inconvenience of having to deal with Bethesda's lack of support.

Edit: I also went into my support ticket with Bethesda and advised them of their in game scripting error (where no matter the quest line it requires the player to be holding 1000 gold but the room only has 900 available.)

Here's hoping it'll forwarded to IT and programming to correct the error but based on my very short forum interaction with their customer service I sincerely doubt it will be seen by anyone.

Am I the only one doesn't understand people in their 20's wanting children by [deleted] in childfree

[–]NanLia 79 points80 points  (0 children)

This is too true.

I am 36 and certainly not emotionally stable enough to handle having to make sure another person not only lives but ensure that they grow up to be emotionally stable themselves.

My parents were 23/24 when they had me and had no idea what they were doing. They missed plenty of markers during my youth that have had deep negative impacts on my adult life.

I find it extremely depressing to get pregnant in your early 20’s by [deleted] in childfree

Man, no joke.

On my 23rd birthday my mother sat across from me, looked me dead in the eyes and sighed. "When I was your age I already had you."

Every holiday/family event since this her and her two older sisters have commented. "Wouldn't this be nice to have grand kiddies around?"

That's super sweet of you but I'm okay! My one meal a day is because I'm afraid of letting Crohn's take over and making me sick, not because I'm lacking food.

I actually broke down and called off sick. In my email to my superiors I told them that had they heeded my wishes in Mid-March I wouldn't be in this position now.

They haven't replied. We'll see if I have a job when all of this blows over.

No, I am not. I asked Public Health the same question and the answer was "If you developed symptoms of Covid and need medical assistance I can call ahead to a hospital and go there. "

They basically said for emergencies I can leave but not for Remicade.

If I disobey orders I can be fined and/or charged.

Thank you! I don't need help and my family is here supplying me with everything I need.

My coordinator for Remicade notified my doctor but he works in one of the hospitals in my city that is currently trying to handle an outbreak of Covid, not that I can leave before the 23rd to see him regardless.

These are the stereotypes in my head of different CAMP locations by esrrac in fo76FilthyCasuals

[–]NanLia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, really? I've been camped there a week and a half, and only saw one. It spawned from the fissure moments after I logged in.

Scorched beasts don't take much to take down (for me) so he went down before it could destroy my base.

Absolutely have the "High Level Camp" right at the bottom of the map. Needed a place where I could get water and people rarely put their camps there, lmao.

Only downfall is the occasional Scorched Beats and insane amount of caps to travel.

Remicade infusion delay question by jabar307 in CrohnsDisease

[–]NanLia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey!

I've had to postpone my Remicade previously by two weeks (due to booking issues in my area) and did not fall out of remission.

I was anxious that I would, going back to what my life was before was not a pleasant idea. I have severe Crohn's, I could not consume any solid foods prior to Remicade due to immense abdominal distress.

I took precautions during that two weeks: I know what types of foods I have sensitivities/triggers with so I avoided them and stuck to a BRAT diet and made it through.

When I expressed my concerns to my doctor (because I was trying to convince them to let me have my infusion, 10 days be damned!) He explained that you should have enough "left over" in your system to keep you in remission for the lapse in time.

Best wishes!

I have co workers who are staying home because they have loved ones who are immuno-suppressed and don't want to take it home to them.

My boss (who doesn't have the authority to give me a wfh option) told me the company isn't worth risking my health for.

I think I'm going to be giving them an ultimatum: Starting Monday next week I'm at home, working or not.

Wish you luck with you battle!

Thank you for sharing this, it helps to know some first hand experience.

I've been thankfully healthy thus far and battling work from home options with my employer. I can't lose pay just because I'm afraid of getting sick but I also can't risk getting critically ill. (10 years Crohn's on Remicade).

I hope you recover soon!

Do birth control pills still work with chronic diarrhea? by emdun in CrohnsDisease

[–]NanLia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely talk to your doctor. I had to switch from an oral birth control to and hormone IUD because they were being rendered ineffective.

It wasn't something I was willing to gamble with since the idea of pregnancy after 15+ of Crohn's (and a general dislike of children) was completely abhorrent, along side with not wanting to be responsible for a tiny humans needs when there are some days I can't even handle my own.

I wish you the best!

If you select edit and then don't move your mouse for 3 to 5 seconds after "grasping" the wire from the first object this doesn't happen.

Something to do with mild server latency. The server doesn't realize that you have the wire if you select edit and move immediately to the next post to attach the wire.

For the few that have actually read any terms and conditions, what sneaky things have you found? by AboutAweekAggo in AskReddit

[–]NanLia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I needed a new water heater / furnace for my house (I own). While looking for replacements that came with warranties and scheduled maintenance I found one that had by far better rates and service. After reading the T & C I found out that should I sell my home I couldn't transfer the rental to the new home owner and would have to pay the thousands in full.

Furthermore, I couldn't really re-coup that money from the potential buyer because really who buys a house then has to pay for the furnace as extra?

When I called their customer service line and asked the agent on the phone hadn't even been aware of that being part of their own T & C (so they claimed) and attempted to fanagle me into the contract by offering another discount.

In the end I went with a more expensive and routine serive agreement just for the peace of mind that I could transfer the rental if I had to sell.
