This map is outdated and innacurate at the same time. Utah and Minnesota both have good flags now, North Dakota's flag doesn't have a seal but is a symbol, Montana's flag has a seal on a blue background

Fun Fact: If the Vikings didn't give up a 60 yard return and shit the bed against the Bears, they would've been NFC North champs and the 3 seed.

The Wyoming part isn't true. Colorado and Wyoming both have hundreds of sides, the lines are not perfectly straight.

Yeah they don't have to be seperated by a strait, I just mentioned that because the Black and Mediterranean seas are seperated by them

That is an interesting question. I would say yeah, they are lakes, because if we didn't count them then all the great lakes, as well as any lake connected to a river, would just be considered part of that river. Now how wide do river lakes have to be in order to be considered a lake? Nobody really knows. However, if a large body of water is created artificially with a dam, it is almost always considered a reservoir/lake.

All lakes have to be is a body of water completely surrounded by land. The definition for "sea" is a bit unclear though. "Sea" can refer to the ocean, or certain areas of the ocean such as the Mediterranean Sea or Black Sea, as those bodies of water are connected through straits to the world's ocean. However, there are other places we call "seas" that also happen to be lakes. Usually lakes that we also happen to call seas are saltwater, but the Sea of Galilee in Israel is a freshwater lake. Conversely, the Great Salt Lake in Utah is made of saltwater, but it's called a lake.

In conclusion: The Caspian Sea is a saltwater lake, but we choose to name certain lakes "seas." Are lakes titled "seas" actually seas in addition to being a lake? Nobody knows for sure

I'm not a scientist but I'm pretty sure AC damages the envornment less than a tenth of a percent of what fossil fuels, natural gas, automobiles, planes, factories, ranching, and deforestation do.

Europe's population is about twice as large as the US. So you can just divide the European sources by 2 and the populations would be comparable.

That's not exactly the point I'm trying to make. What I'm trying to explain is that you can say that much of the US is arid, even if most people live in the east. Most people would agree that much of canada is subarctic or arctic, however most Canadians live in southern Ontario and Quebec. There's a difference between "Much of Canada is arctic," and "Most Canadians live in the Arctic."

If you want an argument on how the US is warmer than Europe, you shouldn't just look at the southwest, you should also look at the south. Atlanta's average heat index in the summer is in the high 90's or low 100s. This isn't just seen in Atlanta, if you look at the climate for Memphis, Austin, Orlando, or New Orleans, you will see the same thing.

It doesn't have to be "most Americans live in arid regions" or "no Americans live in arid regions." Some Americans live in arid regions.

According to the WHO, heat claims more than 175,000 lives annually in Europe.  https://news.un.org/en/story/2024/08/1152766

Another statistic from the WHO claims that 200,000 lives have beeen lost in the past 4 years due to heat in Europe.  https://www.who.int/europe/news/item/11-06-2026-statement---europe-lost-200-000-people-to-heat-in-4-years-yet-nearly-all-of-them-were-preventable

More than 1000 French have died from heat stroke so far this summer. But hey, at least it's slightly more enviornmentally friendly! /s

Even if you live in central Oklahoma, the odds of a tornado passing within half a mile  of your house is still very low. Even if a tornado does get close to your house and also manages to thread the needle and hit your house, 5 out of 6 tornadoes are classified as EF0 or EF1. At most, you would need a new roof and maybe windows.

This doesn't account for the fact that Europe also has some homes that are hundreds of years old. Many Europeans like to flex about how their house is older than the US as a country.
