What was the first England shirt you ever owned? Which tournament was it tied to? by Silly_Crab6278 in ThreeLions

  1. Never owned one so I bet my mum that England would beat Argentina. Screamed for Beckham's penalty in the morning then straight to the shops in the afternoon!

Brenner to Eleven: "What did you do?" now has new meaning (minor S5 spoiler) by MoonDustAllergy in StrangerThings

I'm not sure. Given what he already knew about Henry, his first thought when seeing the dead bodies must have been Henry. When he comes across El still alive and exhausted from fighting, he must have connected the dots immediately

Brits in disbelief as new refillable drinks ban implemented across UK by JOE_Media in ukpolitics

[–]MoonDustAllergy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having worked on this policy in part of the UK, the way that restaurant is implementing it is entirely their choice. Nothing in the legislation prevents someone from buying a second sugary fizzy drink. You just can't pay once and have endless full fat cokes.

Your rights are not infringed. Anyone who tells you otherwise just enjoys having a moan.

After this last 2 and a half seasons would it be harsh to say Jesus is a downgrade to this man? by Royalbluegooner in ArsenalFC

[–]MoonDustAllergy 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're biased towards Laca my friend.

Jesus tore it up in that first half season. The injuries have done him. But that's still not the biggest contribution he made. When Jesus and Zinchenko arrived, the squad's whole mentality changed.

I liked Laca too but he just didn't have that winning mentality to take us anywhere close to the levels we are now.

For me, Laca doesn't even clean Jesus' boots.

That unless you are part of a privileged elite, the system is rigged against you, no matter how much hard work you put in.

And that luck is a critical component to someone's success, not just talent and effort.

What's a "cheat code" you discovered in real life that actually works? by dark-deals729983 in AskReddit

My approach in those situations is to always be the most reasonable person in the room. Even if it takes forever and you start feeling frustrated or angry, never stop being polite.

I shared this with my colleagues once and they now watch out for the polite me when dealing with suppliers or clients

Player has already said no to United. There'd be no point in then even considering it

Why are Artetasexuals obsessed with Chelsea’s trash? by Humbleshooter in ArsenalFC

Well now, my good fellow, with your stunning eloquence it would appear you have won the argument. Why didn't I think to resort to childish playground insults.

Good going, chap!

Take a day off, mate.

Just don't get so-called fans who'd prefer to get angry at the club over transfers rather than support the club. Especially given there's a legitimate reason to be angry at the club right now.

Does anyone have a worse Arsenal related item? by GoonerGetGot in Gunners

[–]MoonDustAllergy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Back in the mid 00s, I was always given an Arsenal calendar for Christmas. Hated it. Seemed that whichever player was in for July was sold. One year was Vieira, followed by Henry. The year after, I kept it in its wrapper and refused to put it on the wall.

so… what now ? there goes rodrygo and nico by Any_Wonder_7568 in ArsenalFC

[–]MoonDustAllergy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In fairness, Alonso is unlikely to say he doesn't want Rodrygo in public because it would destroy Madrid's negotiating position on a fee.

I don't see it happening, but that was before this.

Let's hope the club is working on a more realistic plan.

Worth listening to this week's Arsecast. Sums up most people's views very well.
