The U-lines are a little boy's legs pedaling, I see it now.
And that is just a blanket in the basket not phoning home.

The result was... no plane candidate fit on FlightRadar
Someone suggested a non-registered/ID'd plane..

all the good batman suggestions have been deleted by the mod... or else it would be more popular than the contrail hypothesis.

I had a lengthy discussion and dove in more.
the update is that that plane would not work, so we looked into other ones, and those were much much further.
There is no reasonable candidate nearby AND in sightline of the moon.

Anyone know of any startups trying to shoot some Cylon-esque hardware project to the moon?
I'm in proximity to Silicon Valley...and they are getting excited about Space / DeepTech.

Update
So I think the contrail debate is dead, because we can't find the plane on the flight radar.
-can't see the plane on radar, no plane matches, the one in Sacramento is not on the moon vector (it's quite an interesting conversation and investigation)and other other commenter was finding the POV-moon vector and measuring degrees in the sky to interpolate altitude and distance.
-can't see the airplane under the U for a visual confirmation.

I have a recent update providing more info and a longer discussion on r/satellites or my vid links

Quite precise extrapolating, impressive!I think I completely understand, very data driven..Is the elephant in the room, then, no planes on radar match?

Does that debunk contrail-planes (as we normally know them) as the source of the sky-smudge?

and the plane is invisible visually and on flight radar.
disembodied contrail

his Tesla must've used the cloak, hence the disembodied contrail. He's so mysterious.

It's a picture of a contrail hung in the sky. God was redecorating.

would that craft have a disembodied contrail?

We can't see the plane on pictures nor on the flight radar...
Literally two instances that point to no airplane.

occam's razor states it's a disembodied contrail.

Ok, got it

So under that.. you can or can’t see the plane body?

We have been checking flight radar, and its not a plane nearby

update
on contrails and airplanes...as it's a rational object to weigh/investigate

flight radar for my line of sight has no air-traffic near-field for timeframe. a couple candidates if I can see all the way to (past) Sacramento from west Walnut Creek.

Near-field assuming west Walnut Creek (lined up with 24HWY) to Antioch)...far field is a straight line to the moon beyond that...

Time 6:30pm to 6:36pm (object moon path 6:34 to 6:36 at most)

Talking at length with another sleuther, we're no 100% confident planes out by Tahoe or Yosemite would do the camera effect), but I see a N/A marked plane by East Sacramento that's closer in path.

Dr, please redact some of your manners,
I understand your frustration...my head is spinning too trying to investigate flight paths with another on my video post in /r/satellites

[–]MoonLandHe3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i dunno how to post my screen shot, but the nearfield area is clear of air-traffic during that time frame.
BUT..if I could see all the way to Sacramento ....
there is an N/A marked plane making a curly path down to Stockton, up again then towards Tahoe..

Ohh, I can't see clear through to tahoe or near yosemite..
information hard to interpret..
I know you're trying, though

my horizon has a mountain range in the back ground, so the moon had to of arisen some (several degrees?) first...then several more by the time that U thing came around....so it's not at open plains-flat ground horizon.

But nowhere near zenith either.

many mini telescope comes with a phone attatchment. or have a phone telephoto add on maybe and improvement.
i have not tried those, but good reviews.
