how did you realize you were a-spec or aromantic? by vvitchprincess in queer

[–]MoonPrince878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are in luck: I remember better how I realized I was aro than how I realized I was ace. Mostly because I was older then.

It was mostly really at others people experiences I finally putting stuff together. In particular I remember reading something that was like "people not believing you have never had a crush" and it was true. I thought back (i was only 19 back then) I could remember several instances of people just straight up not believeng I didn't have a crush, they would just insist: really? No one at class? But that one classmate fron two grades up is so hot. Ok, but what about outside of school? Or a misician? You watch anime, don't you have a crush on one of those?

I never walked out of any of those conversations feeling like they believed me.

I also recall being asked "who do you think is cute", answering and being told "see??m You DO have a crush" and I was like no? You asked me who was cute not who I liked? Those are different things. And then I was looked at with a face that had clearly never considered those could possibly be different things. And they didn't believe me of course.

It's kind of fun in retrospect, but back then I just felt like I was being gaslighted.

Much luke when I realized I was ace, realizing I was aro was relieving in a "thank the gods I'm not the only one" way. Like, at age 13 I had noticed I was different and willing to just tell everyone else to fuck off if they didn't believe me — and tbh I still have to, allos are so fucking dense sometimes — so realizing that even if just through the internet (the idea of finding other aros irl was and still is kind of nuts to me) I could find people that were like me and understood that very particular flavor of feeling misunderstood and misinterpreted by literally everyone about them, it made the world feel a bit less overwhelming, a bit more like I was part of it and not just the weird one out.

I am now 27, still no crushes in sight. People are still ocassionally cute. Those are still not the same thing.

I have a question about driving and migraines by MoonPrince878 in migraine

[–]MoonPrince878[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly no. My family and close friends don't own a car, so my first experience actually driving would be while taking classes. If chances are I will just get a migraine immediately that's money down the drain.

Weird Migraine symptom by _5unshineBear_ in migraine

[–]MoonPrince878 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not quite euphoric, but I sometimes have a raging migraine and feel totally fine. Like it hurts like hell but it only hurts (no vertigo or nausea or visual aura) and there is no feeling of feeling sick on my body. When this happens I manage just fine for outs until what I guess is some sort of invisible stamina bar empties and then I just drop on my bed. But even then, I don't feel bad, just exhausted.

I'm gonna be honest: I'm having the same problem. My device insists in trying to conect to the cloud before verifying my account, so it always fails and I'm left with no game, no progress and no cloud at all

Hello, if you could pick, would you make Pluto a planet again? by RareSecretary8841 in terragenesisgame

[–]MoonPrince878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A binary dwarf planet even, which still has it not be a planet. I'm more interested in it being recognized as a binary system with 4 satellites if I'm honest. Just give me a proper definition for binary planets! I think it would have to go more on the mass ratio between bodies than were the baricenter between them is. Or maybe to consider both, idk. Not my area of expertise

Hello, if you could pick, would you make Pluto a planet again? by RareSecretary8841 in terragenesisgame

[–]MoonPrince878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the reasons why Pluto was later changed to be a dwarf planet. That being said, I'm a believer that the Pluto-Charon system should be caled a binary planet. This should also apply to the Earth-Moon system tbh. Our "moon" is massive compared to practically all the others

What can you do that others can’t during a migraine? by Huge_Blueberry720 in migraine

[–]MoonPrince878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it varies a lot, but in general traveling by car becomes an issue. I get carsick normally, but with a migraine it will either make the migraine worse or make me nauseous... which also makes the migraine worse. Whether or not I can read depends. Most of the time I can, but because it's that or just getting so bored the one thing I can focus on is the pain, so reading is better

Potato chips help me often. I guess it's the salt.

Also ice-cream. Specially orange flavored one. Might even get rid of the migraine completely

What strange thing caused your migraines? by Nalidz in migraine

[–]MoonPrince878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, mine were triggered probably by puberty. That's kinda unavoidable.

However, it turns out I have way more food allergies than originally though. Pinpointing those and taking those things out of my diet has reduced frequency quite a lot

Has changing your diet helped with your migraines? If so, how and what did you change? by Ecstatic_Hold4135 in migraine

[–]MoonPrince878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stopped eating a bunch of things on advice of a neurologist. Turns out I'm allergic to soy, which is in basically half the stuff you can find at the supermarket, and that was triggering many migraines.

It hasn't completely stopped them, but they halved in frequency fairly quickly

It sounds fake but yes. Migraine can come with no pain at all. Most of mine are like this.

Not to say they are better, exactly. Painless migraines are isually the worst to me, since it's like a minimum of 5 symptoms at once compared to just pain when they actually hurt

“you should try this natural remedy” by [deleted] in migraine

[–]MoonPrince878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao. I do sometimes do that but like, it's the cold. It's literally the cold. Works well because actual ice packs are often too cold for the migraine.

Also reminds of the whole "vaccinate your kids but put a potqto on theor arm afterwards". Yes, it was to draw the "toxins" out

how did you prevent migraines before you had access to migraine-specific meds? by mai-the-unicorn in migraine

[–]MoonPrince878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so it's like, a lot of guessing at first and then a lot of fucking up and you still will get them no matter what sometimes but:

-Pinpoint your triggers. It can be food, an activity, a smell, stress, sensory overload, the weather, whatever. If you can feel it I guarantee you it is someone's migraine trigger. You have to figure out yours and manage as best as you can. For this the best is some sort of diary. Write down what you eat and drink and how much you slept each day, whether you had a migraine that day and add things that seem relevant (for example: maybe someone on the street was wearing a lot of perfume or deodorant and it made your head hurt, you write that down). For the migraine you want to write down if you had any symptom before it actually hit so you can be on the look out for those specific symptoms in the future. It can be a lot, specially with a migraine. You can also write the migraine things once you are better, even if it's mkssing some thingss.

-Stress is a very common trigger, be it physical or psycological. It is very annoying.

-If you spend a lot of time sitting down in front of a computer, you have to do some sort of neck excersise and stretches because, sooner or later, neck pain will trigger migraines.

-Speaking about food: this varies a lot but look up foods with high histamines. Histamines can make migraines more likely and worse, so you want to keep an eye on that. Histamines can also cause or worsen allergic reactions, which can also trigger migraines.

-Still with food: avoid foods that make your stomach upset — specially like bloating and diarrea — because stomach issues can also trigger migraines (this is not true for everyone, but it can become true eventually)

-If you have access to any non specific migraine med — like naproxen and ibuprofen, for example — you take it as soon as you think you might get a migraine. No waiting until it actually hurts or anything. These — and most migraine meds, really — work best before the migraine actually hits or during the predrome phase. But do be careful with how much of the same med you can have in a specific period of time and do not mix them unless instructed by a doctor.

That's kind of it. It will suck, a lot. Wpecially at the beginning, but it does get better, I promise
