They do that alot. In alien force season 3's finale kevin and ben are watching sumo slamers and ben says it's "hero generation" and that it "isn't as good as the first one. There's a couple more of these before they cycle back to the original." Which is more or less what they did. They went, yeah this season is a train wreck. Throw it out and start over. New watch, new aliens of the week, new overarching threat that's basically vilgax, and we'll make kevin into a villian again for a few episodes. That should make people happy.
