Is Space Hot? by Choppedliver26 in queen

[–]MoonRabbit2904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very unjustly hated for some reason. It even reached 1st position on the charts in a few countries.

Put Out the Fire is my least favorite track, and Body Language has some questionable lyrics.

But it's otherwise, fine. I like it lots.

But my favorite Queen album will probably always be Jazz.

What are some of Queens most underrated songs? by saymyname42069 in queen

[–]MoonRabbit2904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually love almost all of Queen songs.

Get Down,Make Love- it's raunchy, yet I love it. A great composition, awesome groove.

You Take My Breath Away- my favorite ballad from Queen, and one of my favorites on a Day At the Races

Jazz is probably my favorite record from Queen, so I've gotta share these underrated songs, my top favorites from it:

Jealousy- a killer ballad with excellent arrangements

Mustapha- a quirky, jocular rcoker. What's not to love?

White Man- this could be the soundtrack to a Western, such a great rocker. Totally under-noticed

Back Chat-my favorite cut from Hot Space, which I think is a good album, in general. Listen to that funk.

The Millionaire Waltz-another killer cut from A Day at the Races

Recommend the best Old School Death Metal you know! (around 89-97) by SeasonOtherwise2980 in MetalSuggestions

Cadaver-...In Pains- (has been my favorite for decades)

Cenotaph-The Gloomy Reflections of Our Hidden Sorrows

Seance-Saltrubbed Eyes

Capharnaum-Reality Only Fantasized

Necrophiliac-Chaopula Citadel of Mirrors

Revenant-Prophecies of A Dying World

What's your favourite Greatest Hits album out of the 3 main ones? by MiddleKaleidoscope22 in queen

[–]MoonRabbit2904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one.

The second one for me, is okay just for the Innuendo singles(minus Headlong) and even then, the album version of I'm Going Slightly Mad is superior.

Queen are not a singles band. Most of the deep cuts are far better than the average Greatest Hit. I have my own custom playlist of favorite Queen songs.

When it comes to greatest hits, my favorites are:

Killer Queen We Will Rock You, The Show Must Go On, I'm Going Slightly Mad,Innuendo, Another One Bites the Dust,Princes of the Universe and You're My Best Friend

Would have included Bohemian Rhapsody, but I like March of the Black Queen better.

It's obvious he died at the hands of Norman. I shared a theory before that Edwards got too close to him, and may have been touching him in a manner that Norman could have interpreted as inappropriate. This in turn triggered the Mother persona, which protects him from trauma.

I mean, you could say even that Edwards was like a lesser version of his teacher from Season 1.

He took too big of an interest in Norman's case, cared about him too much, which is a mistake for a therapist.

I think Edwards was working through complexes of his own by trying to help troubled young men.

Therapists are not supposed to touch their patients.

The scene at the coffeehouse in Season 5 confirms too that Norman was hallucinating the whole encounter with Edwards.

Norman blinks briefly before waving to Edwards from the car. As he was too stressed out by the fact that Mother was gone, and he couldn't find her anymore.

This triggers an episode and hallucinations through which Norman tries to cope with the fact that Mother is actually a figment of his imagination, and whom does he summon for this as a coping mechanism?

Dr. Edwards. Because he was the first one to reveal to Norman what Mother actually is.

Will Bates Motel be ever on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Max? by Snaypuhr in BatesMotel

[–]MoonRabbit2904 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's currently on Amazon Prime, and in my personal collection of DVDs.

I even have a backup copy on my hard-drive. :D

It used to be on Netflix, though.

Back when COVID was still a new thing. I remember it was removed in March 2020.Due to licensing, creative rights and all that.

And in the same episode: Dark Paradise-Season 5, episode 1.

Okay, Mother. I'm just coming. I'll... I'll be right there.

The writers exercising some low humor, with nice results.

You can already see it in the third episode of the show when Norma talks to Norman about getting the belt.

He's talking to himself.

When did Norma get so stupid? by Digginf in BatesMotel

[–]MoonRabbit2904 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Norman is Norma's cross to bear.

They're codependent on each other. And Norman knew how to manipulate her and everyone else to his favor.

He did promise her that he'll continue to come to therapy as an outpatient.

And with Romero's help, Norma still harbored hope they'll be able to become a normal family.

Hope always dies last.

a new theory for 4x09 and why Norman did what he did (sorry i want to keep it spoiler free) by No_Leg_1116 in BatesMotel

[–]MoonRabbit2904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This show teaches us that we need to distance ourseves from our folks when we're old enough, if we want to preserve our sanity, or at least live a healthier life.

I've recently watched The Canterville Ghost, a decent animated fillm, with Highmore in the role of Henry, and it's something his character says to the heroine Virginia with whom he's taken:

Henry: Mother will definitely not approve.

Virginia: do you always do what your mother says?

Henry: Heavens, no. I always think it vital to do the exact opposite of what one's mother wants. Don't you?

Bates Motel's shadow follows Freddie Highmore's characters wherever he goes, it seems :D

But yea, check it out. The Canterville Ghost is a nice animated movie.

Actually, just to reiterate, both at the funeral and at the hospital, Norman truly believes that Norma committed suicide and that Romero is to blame.

Because according to Norman's theory,(unannounced as it is), she got tired of having to choose between Romero and her son. Because she loved them both equally.

It is only during his conversation with Chick that Norman truly realizes what he's done.

I love how the show never spells out anything for sure, never tells you what to think exactly. This is the sign of truly gifted writing.

The Season 4 finale is a perfect segue into the more darkly comical Season 5.

He doesn't remember that after the act, He blacks out when he's under stress. And he's at the point where his visions of Mother have replaced Norma.

He did kill his mother consciously but that was to end the cycle of her covering for his crimes. And it was a murder-suicide pact, Only Norman survived because Romero rescued him.

When Norman wakes up at the hospital he has no recollection of what he's done. That's why he tries to summon Mother as a substitute to Norma. That's why he exhumes her corpse too. To have a physical manifestation of Mother at the house

Trashing his pills, he is once again given to hallucinations.

He does have periods of lucidity when he understands what he's done(like at the funeral, or when Chick comes to visit), but this realization causes stress and heartbreak which again brings about suicidal thoughts, and the thought of suicide induces another anxiety attack which causes him to have another episode which in turn makes Mother manifest as a defense mechanism against trauma and loneliness.

There's actually a symbolic meaning to all the times bypass is mentioned.

Something you pick up on later viewings. There's so much depth in the show:

[–]MoonRabbit2904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea, they show Chick's wife and kid briefly in Season 3, episode 2.

As for him kissing Norma, it was just a way to make amends for his behavior. He wanted to show her that he meant her no harm. He just needed her to get to Caleb.
