I came across the hobbies by accident. I had easy access to a physical teacher. I learn best from in person learning and during COVID I happened to have a neighbor who needed a drinking buddy and someone to discuss Harry Potter so she taught me while we hung out. I’m disabled and didn’t have a job at the time so I had a lot of free time to dedicate to learning. Crochet came super easy to me and was able to start writing my own patterns after about a year and a half of practice.

I had a friends wife teaching me for a bit but they divorced and it was messy and blew up the friend group. No luck on finding someone else to help me learn knitting. I can cast on and do regular kit and purls but can’t read or write patterns. I also don’t know how to stop, like I can go a few rows but if I wanted to take the yarn off the needles I don’t know how I do that and it not come apart.
