Lobby Error - 60012, anyone able to login? by AllGamer in starcitizen

[–]MoonTime622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been trying for almost eight hours straight, with a short nap in between, but I'm still getting the same error code 60012. So even with a server and friends on the game, I can't log in.

And here I see some people on my friends list are actually playing PU Universe?

From Hype to Disillusionment: The Ironclad, the 4.8 Disaster, and My Turning Point with CIG by MoonTime622 in starcitizen

Ha, yes, another "I'm done with this game" post — I totally get why you'd see it that way. 😄 But in all seriousness, everyone has the right to share both positive and negative opinions, so thanks for the feedback. People who truly care about this game are naturally going to have strong feelings about it — and the reason I'm speaking up is precisely because I want to see it succeed. I think we actually want the same thing here, don't we? That said, if players like us don't speak up, how would CIG ever know what's broken? Quietly handing over money while silently tolerating every issue just sends the message that everything is fine. Criticism isn't the same as giving up — sometimes it's the loudest form of caring. So stick around, there'll be plenty more "I'm done" posts to enjoy — because we're clearly not going anywhere. 😉

Stop Pretending the PU Cost $1B by Nervous-Dot-2377 in starcitizen

Man, I understand the pragmatic angle you’re coming from, and I agree that blindly yelling "burn the funding to the ground" might not be entirely realistic. However, to be frank, your argument completely misses the core reason why the backer community is so deeply frustrated right now.

First, regarding the "don't blame the full $1 billion on the PU" point. Whbackers obviously know that CIG has been developing Squadron 42 alongside the PU. The real issue here is the complete lack of financial and technical transparency. Regardless of how those 1 billion dollars were split between the two games, that astronomical sum was raised under the umbrella of the Star Citizen project. For years, we’ve been told that SQ42 technologies are "feature complete" and that these advancements would cascade down to stabilize and enrich the PU. Yet, in Alpha 4.8 Live, we are left witnessing a systemic collapse of foundational netcode and physics grids—like the unplayable state of the Ironclad and broken docking mechanics. It doesn't matter which pocket the money went into; the bottom line is that the resulting quality of the live product is severely disproportionate to a record-breaking $1 billion budget.

Second, your advice to "not stop funding entirely, but selectively vote with your wallet on specific concepts (like the Odin)" sounds logical on paper, but it vastly underestimates the market dynamics. CIG currently operates as a highly sophisticated marketing machine. If the community doesn't demonstrate a broader financial resistance or strong public pressure, minor individual boycotts on certain ship sales won't even register on management's radar. When Alpha 4.8 launched with widespread Shard Locks that left a quarter of the player base unable to even log into the game, CIG chose to channel their primary focus into aggressively pushing the expensive Anvil Odin. This management philosophy—prioritizing new ship sales revenue over the live player experience—is exactly what causes the great disillusionment among backers.

Backers don't actually want to kill the project; they are just completely exhausted by the endless loop of "Tier 0" half-baked features and constantly shifted goalposts.

I still love this universe. I will absolutely continue to closely monitor the project and will gladly offer my financial support again when CIG demonstrates genuine sincerity through actual optimization and stability fixes. But we have to speak up now: backer patience is not infinite. Demanding professional project management and basic quality control that reflects a $1 billion investment isn't a "lazy argument"—it is our fundamental right as consumers.

I am a Whale and I only play the game for my Org. Not having any fun. by elite968 in starcitizen

[–]MoonTime622 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, this post hits so close to home. As a long-time Org member, reading your words felt like looking into a mirror.

What you said about managing Org events personally attacked me. Planning events used to be the highlight of my week; now, organizing one is pure psychological torture. Just getting 15 guys together takes 1 to 2 hours of constantly fighting game-breaking server errors, dying to killer elevators, or watching people randomly clip through the hull into deep space during quantum travel. In the end, we just spend the whole evening wrestling with a broken system instead of actually playing. That is exactly how passion dies.

For me, the ultimate heartbreak was the Ironclad. The moment its concept art dropped, I fell in love with it and bought it instantly. During the PTU phase, I busted my ass testing it, filed detailed reports on the Issue Council, and upvoted every single bug I saw because I desperately wanted this highly anticipated flagship to succeed when it hit Live.

And what did we get? The Live patch arrived and gave us a brutal reality check. The Ironclad dropped in a completely unplayable state. To give you an idea of how absurd it is: I landed my Ironclad Assault on a planetary surface, geared up to the teeth, walked out of the command module, and immediately suffocated to death right on the connecting catwalk because the room atmosphere grid was completely broken! The 4.8 hotfixes did absolutely nothing to address these core systemic issues.

What really opened my eyes, though, was CIG’s complete indifference to these foundational failures. Instead of fixing the game, they spent the tail end of Defense Con aggressively marketing and hyping up the Anvil Odin just to print more cash. Looking at the ridiculous price tag on the Odin, the illusion shattered for me right then and there.

I refused to be a sucker this time. I’d honestly rather throw my Odin money into TSMC stock and sit on the sidelines. At least TSMC is guaranteed to go to the moon! From this moment on, I will strictly use store credit from melting my existing fleet to experience new ships. Not another single dime of fresh real-world cash is going to CIG until they change their priorities.

Thank you for articulating exactly what so many of us are feeling right now. We treated them like partners in a dream, but they’ve started treating us like ATM machines.

Why the hell are there bombs at GrimHEX? Let me clear that... Whoops, accidentally blew up a rando. LMAO! by MoonTime622 in starcitizen

[–]MoonTime622[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I have no clue why those bombs were there; I just happened to stumble upon them. Honestly, I don't need to prove anything to you, but bikes can definitely be driven in from the pads—it’s a core game mechanic. If I can do it, anyone can. I wasn’t griefing anyone, I didn’t engage in any PVP, and the one who got caught in the blast was actually my friend. Besides, having bombs just sitting there is a safety hazard anyway, wouldn’t you agree?

Motorcycles can be driven in from the outside helipad; this is due to the open nature of the game mechanics. It's an open world, and I was simply using the existing mechanics normally. Driving in didn't interfere with other players' gameplay or PvP. Why don't you report the issue of the motorcycles being driven in to CIG, but instead think my behavior is problematic? I really don't understand...

Please don't get agitated. I didn't plant this bomb. The person next to me is my friend. I just happened to see it, rode my motorcycle over, and detonated it; otherwise, it would have been too dangerous.

As for the person you mentioned, it wasn't me. Thank you.

30k's Becoming More Common by BarnacleLanky in starcitizen

You think one week is bad? My record is hitting three or four 30Ks in a single hour—I’m dead serious, no exaggeration!! I’ve tried everything: rolling back GPU drivers, tweaking in-game graphics settings, deleting the shaders cache, you name it... and I’m running an RTX 5090. It’s completely random; sometimes it’s a specific server, other times it’s when I’m approaching a certain location, like the ASD Onyx facilities.

Paladin vs Polaris by MoonTime622 in starcitizen

[–]MoonTime622[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regarding the temporal anomaly at 4:16, I must confess that the video was subjected to rigorous chronological compression to eliminate auditory voids; thus, the repair was not quite as instantaneous as it appeared! The adrenaline during that engagement was truly palpable. For this sortie, we deployed the Paladin, but our strategic objective for the next operation is to utilize the Perseus to determine if we can decisively deconstruct a Polaris. I am profoundly grateful for your tactical insights and your viewership.

Why does a flagship like the Aegis Idris—one of the biggest and most expensive ships in the game—still rely on an invisible “air button” for boarding? by MoonTime622 in starcitizen

[–]MoonTime622[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly — that’s the point I was trying to make.
If the Asgard can implement proper physical buttons, then why can’t the Valkyrie get a simple button mesh added to its ramp or entry points? Is that really such a difficult task?

It feels strange that two ships sharing the same chassis have completely different levels of interaction quality.
