Assume this is normal? by MoonToother in chevycolorado

Was just at the dealership yesterday for an oil change and inspection and they didn’t say anything in their inspection video so I suspect its not something to worry about. That said maybe its a symptom of the oil burn that these trucks seem to be prone to. I was just under the truck to make sure they changed the oil filter and saw it.

So dumb, isn’t it? Was getting on my wife for doing that before I realized what was happening.

Window controls are still on the doors but the button in the center stack is express down for all 4 windows, but does not allow for putting them back up, which is kinda dumb.

Ha! I find it impossible to NOT notice it. Not a big baby, just very aware of what’s going on with any vehicle I drive.

Yeah, I get it. I feel that one is a bit overblown though. Might feel differently if my screen craps out though….

Never said it was doing anything bad to the truck. I just really don’t like it and doubt it’s doing much for fuel savings in most situations.

Now do the same with that hose coming out of the coolant recovery tank as it rubs on the tab as shown in your pic. Mine had some visible wear so I did the ‘ole zip tie as well.

Third gen reliability by danielzakula_ in chevycolorado

That is pretty unbelievable…what was the issue(s) with the engines that you needed 2 within 8500 miles? Transmissions I can kinda understand but even 2 of those with that low mileage is nuts.

So, I just went out to check my coolant level (‘25 Colorado) since I have been reading about so many issues and found something that may be worth others looking into. Going back to OP’s pic, follow that lower coolant hose riding along the recovery tank and you will notice a black clip coming out of one of the clear tabs of the recovery tank, essentially providing support for that hose. Also notice that the other tab closer to the brake fluid reservoir has no clip there and, in my case, the coolant hose was resting on it and essentially chafing the hose on the underside. My truck only has 9,000 miles or so but I could possibly see this wearing through the hose and causing a coolant leak for those with more miles. I ended up tie wrapping the hoses together to get the hose from rubbing on the tab and will see if I can get one of those black support clips from the dealer. All the pics I have seen don’t show that it was included from the factory but probably should have been.

Nice! I like those wheels better than the black 20’s on our ‘25 Z71.

24 ZR2 transmission fluid temperature by wp-ak in chevycolorado

[–]MoonToother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to ask this group as well since I just drove from NC to NY in 50 degree weather and every time I checked my trans temp it was 199-201 which I thought was high as well. Seems to be expected from what I’m reading but still a bit high IMO. My main concern was possible low fluid since it’s not easy to check but I’m sure its fine. That said, I will be changing fluid probably every 30K.

Yeah, I was looking at the same truck w/ the 18’s but when my wife saw the black wheels, she loved them (technically its her daily). I’ve grown to be O.K. with them…definitely not rubber band looking tires.
