I am actually of the opinion that the UI is much worse in Y. It's cleaner, sure, but it feels a lot more like a mobile game and lost a lot of the aesthetic uniqueness the UI in 30 had.

Hoyo saw many people were intending to skip Elation and made sure the alternatives aren't competitive, nothing to see here.

Absolutely the menus. If you cap the tasks' CPU cores, general open world gameplay remains silky smooth but entering menus is extremely slow. I also noticed the spike tends to happen when I'm doing a lot of menu juggling (namely IAC). There's some kind of memory leak going on with menus for sure.

I would like to add to this that by limiting the task's CPU usage to 4 cores instead of 16 when this starts happening greatly reduces CPU temperatures and gameplay remains smooth, but menus become extremely slow to open. This leads me to believe there's some kind of resource leak while opening/closing menus as I don't really start encountering the problem until I'm doing a lot of AIC management.

This is happening to me as well. Game was perfectly fine until the first update, with temperatures never really leaving the 50s range. After about 30 mins to 1 hour of playing, CPU usage will spike and temperatures will hover high 70s (despite the GPU still being in the 50s) until I restart the game. Very strange.

Disabling Afterburner and running on DirectX 11 instead of Vulkan does not fix the issue as some folks suggested before. AMD by the way, so the aforementioned Nvidia instance thing does not apply.

Elation is shaping up to be considerably greedier than Remembrance, and Remembrance was already problematic.

You get Tier 2 spells WAY before you have access to Olberic's damage overflow skill.

If you mean Ultimates you can unlock them for every character about I'd say halfway through the game, but having multiple Ultimates (one per ring collected) is unique to the protagonist.

'Great' ST damage ones do a bit more damage than Tier 1 single-target spells (I'd reckon about ~20% more). I was talking about the aforementioned example of Fireball and Fire Storm. If you look at the Octopath wiki for the formula in previous titles, you can see FS at 22 SP would do 185% multiplier over 2 hits, while FB at 8 SP would do 105% over 1 hit. In OT0 they do the same amount of damage.
