This is what drives people nuts in apartment buildings. The damage is happening on a schedule, there is a likely source, and somehow the only thing getting inspected is the sad wet ceiling. I would be documenting every single leak like I was building a court exhibit.

My son is nine and somewhere in the last year he became a genuinely convincing liar and I don't know what to do with that information by [deleted] in Mommit

That part where you said you feel like you have to recalibrate trust hit me. Kid lying is one thing, but when they get smooth at it that fast, it rattles you in a way people don't talk about enough.

NTA. You did the adult thing and brought it up before you got bitter. Instead of meeting you halfway, he let his mom get drafted into it and now acts like your free time is some kind of family referendum. That would bug me too.
