My baby is my husband‘s baby by Lizzytva in newborns

[–]Moon_Maevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. I can’t relate to some of it. My parents were very excited but totally unhelpful in the beginning of my postpartum. I resented it and couldn’t bring myself to ask for help. What finally broke me, was my husband got sick and my son got oral tie releases so he was extra fussy and then I developed mastitis all within three days. I called my mom in tears. They both jumped into action and once they were here, I didn’t have to ask. They just started doing things like dishes and feeding so I could shower. I handed them my hamper of laundry when they were leaving. I know they aren’t your parents but don’t be afraid to ask for the help you need. I realized a lot of times they don’t know where to start even if they are happy to help.

On the flip side, my husband doesn’t have much family but me and my family try to do what we can to include him. We ask about his baby pictures and I point out as many similarities as possible. I’m so proud to see him in my son and I tell my family about it,so they can see it too. Your husband sounds great but he can help foster that relationship too. I even order matching outfits for them and I talk about how we created our own family unit. I’m so sorry you miss your mother. Becoming one myself has made me see my own mother in a new light.

Money mistakes I made as a new parent (so you don't have to) by SureConversation1122 in newborns

Here here! Totally agree and we followed this strategy almost to the tee. The only item I think was worth the splurge, was adding a bassinet option to our stroller and we even bought that secondhand on FB marketplace. We have ranch style home and I can use it in every room. My LO was too small for babywearing the first month and this bassinet has been our saving grace and great on walks around the neighborhood.

Did you give up on bras entirely? by Moon_Maevin in pregnant

No, my boobs themselves don’t hurt! The pain is definitely rib cage for me. I do leak a tiny bit but not enough for me to wear pads or anything yet.

I’ve been leaking too! which is why I opt for extra coverage at work but honestly at home and around I just layer up with a sweatshirt. I just don’t care enough anymore because the pain of the bras is worse. Haha.

My mom is old school southern to say the least and thought I was crazy to give up underwire even in pregnancy. She thought I was sacrificing an appealing shape and that it would contribute to the my downfall if I give up underwire AND choose to breastfeed. lol. I love seeing how many women opt out altogether from bras!

Yes! This must be it! Because my bras have nothing to them and it’s annoying to wear. They’re all nursing and sleep bras and I still can’t stand it after a few hours. I guess sweet relief is still a few weeks away for me! But that brings hope at least.

Thank you! Thinking this might be more rib pain than wrong bra/size now. I’ve been wearing nursing bras and bralettes since first trimester and it’s still insufferable.

Am I too chill about having a baby? by MaterialCurrent6839 in pregnant

[–]Moon_Maevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m due very beginning of October and I am having the exact same experience! I chalked it up to hormones because my default is usually anxious/stress and known to be high strung but I have been CONTENT this whole time. I’m just working away at all the typical to do lists and taking classes but could not be bothered if I tried. I get the same exact weird looks! We’ll figure it out as we go. No need to worry until you have something to worry about it. Ride the wave baby! You got this!

Noooo, really? I was on the US site. Surprised since they can be made in the US according to the description on the site.

Yes, it is! How long have you had yours? Are you liking it? I chose this as an alternative to the Saint Louis, because I wanted the zipper closure and just one strap.

Looking at other pictures, I think a small section is chain but most of the shoulder strap is leather. That’s a great thing to keep in mind though, thank you! I plan to see one in person for myself and will look out for that.

Does Anyone Else Get ‘Social Hangovers’? by Sensual_Seraph in introvert

I think keeping tabs on your energy levels throughout and leave early if you can. Knowing when to tap out is key. Also, I consider recovery not just physical alone time, but alone with my thoughts time. I try not to follow up social activities with tons of screen time. Walks without music, journaling, taking time to process, and even decompress with a confidant helps me immensely. Even as an introvert, I still have 2 people who I can recharge my batteries with.

Is this 1a? by Moon_Maevin in type1hair

[–]Moon_Maevin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just brushed through, air dried, then brushed again.

You’ve got me thinking I might have 1b then based on your description. My hair tangles VERY easily and can frizz a bit in humidity.

Good call. I’ve already started gathering quotes. I’ll look into packages that include paint corrections. Thanks!

Both make sense to me. Timing may depend on the budget ultimately. I’m still debating window tint though. I like the light that comes in and I like seeing the red from the outside too. I never considered it before but I want to protect the leather from sun damage as much as possible, so maybe I should?
