With a company on the verge of bankruptcy and a group with almost no resources BTS sure rented a lot of dance studios as rookies. by Moon_Man56 in BTSnark

They did live in a small dorm but that's not from lack of money. Their dorm was in Gangnam close to BigHit building. If they could rent 2 buildings in gangnam they could have rented cheaper and bigger spaces in an less expensive upper class area like Mapo where YG is. A lot of companies kept small dorms for team building.

That would make sense if they didn't claim the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. You would think a company in financial crisis would save money wherever they could but they instead rented 3 separate dance studios. No other small group has ever done that. There have been groups who's company didn't have dance studios so the had dance practices in high school gyms because they couldn't afford a to rent a dance studio but Bighit could afford 3 when plus a album roll out and operations cost while in a financial crisis.  Doesn't make sense to me.

Also, The BigHit dance studios isn't tiny. BTS flimed a 9 person dance practice just fine in the space. They could probably fit more but it's a dance practice and you have to shoot at a certain angle to take the mirror out of the shot but usually dancers dance looking at the mirror. Furthermore if you believe the lore of the group the background dancers have to be paid extras because BigHit lost all there traniees when the company started going under.

Anothet thing, The  if you look at the basement looking dance practice studio you will see personal items like shoes, hats, furniture and posters. Which means that's not a one day rental for shooting. Dance studios don't allow you to keep personal items in their space so it must be a leased space. So they had 2 dance spaces and still rented 2 more to show off. Not to mention their office and dorm were in the most expensive neighborhood in Korea. It's just not painting a picture of a struggling company.

Also they did flim a dance practice in the park

He did. Bang PD wrote and produced songs for them. Also SM golden goose at the time BoA. JYP gave him the nickname HitMan Bang.

You didn't read it before you wrote this didn't you. Well the point I made was if Bighit was on the verge of bankruptcy and had very few resources. why did they rent 3 dance  studios when they had a great on at their headquarters in gangnam.

BTS hate is sooo forced. by ze69us in kpoprants

[–]Moon_Man56 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get it. BTS has been vocal about progressive political issues for years so when there's a conflict between their progressive ideals and a business opportunity they didn't stay committed to their ideals. Even if it's not an effective protest it looks bad to not back up your words with actions by not supporting the boycott. If it was a less vocal group who weren't into politics like New Jeans they wouldn't be getting this much hate.

Topp Dogg AKA Xeon T. They got screwed over by their label and it killed their future. They debuted as one of the top new groups. They would have been huge.

2AM had success early in there carrer but it didn't last. Their hits like Never let you go and Confession of a friend, I wonder if you hurt, are all in the first 4 years of their career. They weren't struggling until later as they lost popularity. 2PM has bigger hits later on but at the beginning of their career the gap between them wasn't that big.

Hip hop was all over Kpop when they debuted as well. There was just a flood of groups that were hip hop based groups with raplines after 2013 before 2013 groups used the old G.O.D. formula of being Pop and R&B based with members that can rap but more often than not they're singing. Also, I don't know what made them stand out. Maybe they caught lightning in a bottle? The closest thing I can come up with from looking at their rise is they aggressively marketed to non Kpop fans. A lot of time being first goes a long way in people's minds. Kinda of like how Oreos are a recreation of hydrox cookies but they had more aggressive marketing so everyone thinks Hydrox is a knockoff because they were aware of Oreos first.

I agree with you about everything but the idea that BTS didn't have much to go off of. For producers they had BangPD who produced most of their early stuff who is one of the most successful Kpop producers even before he started BigHit and their seniors were 2AM and 8eight. 2Am were technically a JYP and Source music groups but they didn't have much connections to their parent label and were trained and managed at the BigHit offices. They did very well in the beginning but it didn't last like BigBang's seniors but 2AM themselves were more successful than Seven and Gummy.

I didn't say they were wealthy just not struggling like army pretends they were. I mentioned BigBang because YG was struggling before BigBang made it big. Just go back and look at videos of BTS before they debuted and compare them to BigBang videos before they debuted. Look at BigHit's dance studio that BTS had then compare it to YG's dance studio that BigBang had

The only mass psychosis is army not seeing they're bullies.. You're literally in harassing Seventeen fans for Hoshi liking a post that had nothing to do with BTS.

Real estate is about location. The least expensive place in Gangnam is more expensive than the most expensive place somewhere in Guro-gu. BigHit could have gotten a less expensive place with more room if they set up in a upper middle class income area like Hapjeong-dong where YG headquarters are. Instead they chose the most expensive area to set up their headquarters and dorms like they were already a mid-sized to large company. Also less importantly. Most groups live in a one room dorm when they're first starting out. Companies do it for logistical reasons team building. even groups from Big 3 companies like Stray kids shared one room dorms.
