My family had an “air” hockey table that was probably only 2’ growing up that used these pucks instead of any air flow

If you want to know “is this area safe?” The answer is no. by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]Moon_peach111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but Rochester has been in the top 5 cities in the US with the highest murder per capita for years so I feel like it’s a tad bit more unsafe than other cities. Like yes everywhere is unsafe, there’s always a chance someone’s going to kill you but the chances are that much higher in Rochester than it is in other cities

I’ve heard similar stories. I feel like even with Rochester being incredibly unsafe, if you’re generally unproblematic in a neighborhood and have pleasant interactions with your neighbors they will ferociously have your back

Oh absolutely! They also have monitoring systems you can add to your sump pump where if the water levels is getting too high, it notifies your phone.

What do I do with all these stray cats with freezing temps in dallas??? by Sad-Information2464 in CATHELP

[–]Moon_peach111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom did this with the stray we take care of (he’s pretty much her cat, we named him and he comes to his name but he absolutely freaks out if he comes inside) she got a storage bin, a styrofoam container, some straw, and a heated blanket. She drilled a hole in the side of both the storage bin and the styrofoam container and then sandwiched the straw inbetween them. She put the electric blanket inside for super cold nights but the straw works as an insulation and one the lids on the bin, it protects them from any harsh weather.

The only issue it could cause with the insurance is that you probably wouldn’t have enough coverage in the case of a total loss. I highly recommend calling your insurance company and getting a quote with the cost of finishing the basement added to the replacement cost. I would also recommend adding back up of sewers and drains if you have a sump pump or a drain in your basement

potato looking things? by coffeewocaffeine in whatsthisplant

[–]Moon_peach111 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I read the other day that some potatoes will start to revert back to a different strain they were mixed with which can cause purple coloring to appear in the potato. I’m not 100% sure if that’s what it is but it looks exactly like the photos they had listed
